This is an amazing gift, thank you!

...I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway. Just like I can't take advantage of sales to purchase expansions/quest packs in the LOTRO Store for future use while I am VIP, this gift also does current VIPs no good, correct? That is, if I with a current VIP subscription try to apply this code, it won't have the effect of keeping those quest packs unlocked for me after my subscription expires next spring, will it?

VIP doesn't give you expansions. Gundabad qualifies as an xpac so if you don't have it, now you do.

FYI to new players who might get confused. When you enter the code, the items won't disappear from the store. Close the store, re-open the store, then you'll see them gone so you know they're purchased.

Meanwhile, thank you SSG.
Typically closing and relaunching the game will ensure that your account reconciles new purchases, due to it refreshing things when you log in. Oftentimes this isn't necessary, but especially when purchasing Quest Packs, it is often required to refresh things.

Thank you SSG! This is a great move that will pull more players back to the game.
On the other hand, I purchased Gondor Renewed literally 2 days ago, is there any hope for a refund? 🥺

Cool, what about those of us who actually support you the most by having all the quest packs.

and ...

Thank you for all those who need. But since I am VIP for 13 years (without stopping) and since I bought every possible expansion and quest pack (not to mention supporting coffers which you add from time to time) it is completely useless. As someone already mention in this thread what about those who actually support the game?

I find myself echoing these sentiments. At the risk of sounding churlish, it seems to me that those who have already supported SSG by purchasing these expansions aren't really going to feel the love.

Hmm ... if SSG is willing to forgo the income from the sale of these expansions, they're effectively making a gift to those players who have not already bought the expansions. I don't have a problem with this.

However, here's a suggestion: why not award (that is, gift) LotRO points of equivalent value to those accounts that have already purchased them?

I'm genuinely happy for everyone who benefits from this. Thank you for giving those people such an awesome gift!
However, for someone like myself, who buys all the content, is vip, and purchases LP regularly, it's not very useful.

If you have a lifetime, it's no problem. However, if you ever drop your VIP, due to unemployment for instance, you lose all that content. If you've purchased it, you'll still have it as a Premium account.
Thanks! It was a bit confusing having both quest packs showing as unpurchased on both accounts.

Maturity does not come with age.
I agree that those who pay real money should be also getting some kind of "thank you gift" every once in a while and those who spent lot of money on this game and that are mentioning it now I don't see that they are greedy. While I agree with that I also think that this kind of gift will actually benefit us all because it seems like it will help to maintain population which could mean that if people stay attracted to LOTRO there is more motivation to spend money in future months. Besides that I also think that good number of accounts where those coupons are activated are some kind of secondary account of person who has main account where it spent money.

Agreed, im a 12 yr VIP player, pretty regular weekly for the most part I have everything in this thank you coupon, bought with either $ or points, so yeah thats Great to drum up new players or beginners to elevation etc, but means nothing to me, just like Here 's free regular mount package, Points in the store would Hold way more value to me for whatever.. or even better how about when their is a new expansion to purchase outside free to Vip, how about exsisting vip's get a discount

One issue that should probably be addressed: My VIP does not lapse till late November I think as I bought it for a year around Thanksgiving last year. That means I will miss the 99LP sale on the two items mentioned for sale, as I cannot add them to my account while being VIP. I will likely renew VIP anyways, but still: It would have been nice if we could add these two things to our account while being VIP. I know why it is done this way, so lifetimers and/or vips don't accidentally buy something they don't need, but for those who only subbed to VIP temporarily and are planning to go without after it lapses....... they should get the opportunity to buy this pack at the sale price.

Anything that can be done about that?
Have you tried that? Í'm quite sure that's not correct. I have a LTA and entered the code nonetheless, and I discovered I would be able to buy the 99lp packs anyway.

Imagine whinging at a free gift.

Some people cannot be happy for others that might benefit more.

Embarrassing.
I shall do you the courtesy of assuming that you misunderstand.

We're not complaining about free gifts. We're complaining about free gifts that are only of use to those who have not already purchased expansions.

Those who've already supported SSG by purchasing these expansions don't actually get anything at all.

I didn't ask for your courtesy nor did I misunderstand, as I have clearly written:

Yes, you are. You're a literally complaining that people got free stuff and you didn't.
I for one, am happy for people who didn't have these before and I'm happy for those that felt like putting off playing the game till they could get the quest packs or are returning after a prolonged absence.

Also, these are quest packs. Not expansions.
Quest packs are not the same as expansions, as they generally do include instances or additionals, just landscape questing and have historically been much cheaper.
Furthermore, all of this is old content anyway, things that are far less played compared to regular content. It's a general practice that older content gets bundled into something at a massive discount or given away after a few years.

We would like to thank you for supporting us!

These are Cordovan’s words. He’s thanking those who have supported the game, but in reality, the players who support it most, by buying everything, maintaining VIP, etc, aren’t shown any real appreciation. This isn’t about envy or ill will toward those who get things for free; it’s about recognizing the difference, which is why people react the way they do.

I personally think it’s meant to draw in more players to help keep the player base, but Cordovan completely missed the mark with his wording.

That`s great to have a little backup helping out new players! Heck I been a Lotro Player since 2007 and still coming back for more!!! And now I`m screwed on the worlds that are left on the new 64 bit servers there is only three left, to move too? Is there a cheat code to move my characters to the world I`m currently in? Which is Gladden (US) for 5 characters and Crickhollow (US) for others? And these servers that are available have no (US) or (EU) to know where I`m going to! Are to know what nationality it is for that new 64 bit server? Help Please before I do something stupid lol :)
