The fact that it currently works that way doesn't mean it isn't a bug.

A bug is an unintended function. I don't think any developer intended pets to be summoned at half morale.

Pets are summoned with a set value of stats based on your player level.
Those stats cannot or aren't modified until the pet is brought into existence.
Intended - who can say. But that is the current design mechanism.

Great. The current design mechanism of my post is to get it fixed.

Which is unlikely.
I'm certainly not the developer, but I imagine if this was something that could have been fixed, it would have been - but it's just how it is designed, and we've already seen how difficult it is to change aspects of that design.
I don't imagine it's even possible for the pet system to work in a way that considers traits before summoning.

It's a scripted program that auto-presses a variety of keys when activated typically by a specific key press. It is purely on my end, there is no direct interaction with the game itself at all. Simply put, if I press 'shift', it automatically presses 1, 2, 3, and 4. Again, that is not breaking any rules. And also it only eases gameplay difficulty, it is clunky and results in a drop in dps.

Uela for the game cannot dictate what we do on our own computers whilst in game as long as it is not directly accessing the game itself (like a hack), and furthermore afk'ing is something else, of which I have never done.

From SSGs CoC:

18) You may not create, post, use or distribute any utilities, emulators or other third party software tools without the express written permission of Standing Stone Games (including, without limitation, macroing programs, botting programs, server emulators, client hacks, map hacks, and data gathering utilities).

Gotcha. So those using programmable keyboards, that include the use of macros, must be banned.

Good luck going after everyone that has a programmable keyboard, of whom may be using key macros.

And furthermore, legally they cannot control what we do on our end as long as it does not directly interact/etc with the game itself. If I have a robot that hits the keys for me while I'm drinking a beer, I can do that.

But go ahead, start a movement to kick down doors and ban people. Good luck with your movement, I hope you have a good lawyer.
You literally just threatened me for posting SSG’s Code of Conduct. Seems there are more issues here than just botting and macro’ing.

You've now started to bring up a subject that shouldn't be brought up on the forums in the first place. Just adding to further violations of the community rules. At this point, I'm stepping out of the 'madhouse', thanks for making me laugh.

That is disgusting. You people have caused me nothing but pain over the last week... good for you that it was a laugh.

I'm sorry that you're hurting. A lot of us are struggling to enjoy the new LM as well. I'm just going to share how I'm approaching the situation in case it might help you find your own path forward.

Since I'm no longer having fun playing my LM at the moment, I've decided to stop playing that class for the time being. That isn't an easy decision for me because LM has been my main for 12 years and I have one in every race, ranging from level 67 to 150. However, LOTRO is a game and it is meant to be enjoyable, so if something stops being fun then I'm not going to force myself to continue.

I've spent a ton of hours on my LMs over the years so I'm used to playing the class a certain way, and right now it's frustrating to not be able to play that way anymore. I hope that I will be able to find a way to enjoy playing LM again in the future, but I personally think I'll have a better chance of that if I step away from my LMs until my feelings aren't as raw. Plus, Cordovan mentioned that if they make any adjustments to LM due to the feedback about the class revamp it won't happen for a while because they want to let the dust settle first. So, there's still a chance that adjustments might be made in the future which will make the new LM more enjoyable to me (my biggest issue is no pets in red line). Perhaps they won't change anything, but we won't know for a while.

For now, I started to play a different class on the new legendary servers but I'm not enjoying that much anymore, so I'm either going to casually play an alt on my main server while enjoying the festival and decorating my houses, or I'm going to take some time off from LOTRO and play something else for a while. LOTRO is my main MMORPG but I'm not going to force myself to play every day/week if I'm finding it frustrating. I've taken several breaks over the years and find that I usually rediscover what I love about the game when I come back. I haven't played the latest content in SWTOR or ESO, so I may take a break to catch up on those, or I may play through the Dragon Age games again to prepare for the new one coming out this fall. When the dust settles and I see where LM ends up, then I can approach the class with fresh eyes and make a decision about whether or not I want to continue playing LM at that time.

Now, about the forums. I don't post a whole lot on the forums myself because I personally don't like getting attacked or drawn into disagreements with people, but I do feel that it is important to share my feedback with SSG so I will post about things I feel strongly about (like the LM class rework). However, my main goal of posting here is to share feedback with SSG, not to squabble with other players, so I generally don't respond if I think something will just lead to an argument. I also try to keep in mind that everyone posting here is passionate about LOTRO in their own way. I may not agree with their views or how they choose to express them, but other players are not my enemies. Most everyone here shares a love of the game and a desire for it to succeed, but the player base is diverse and many of us see things from different perspectives. It's also important to remember that other players are not responsible for changes that I dislike in the game, even if they themselves support those changes, because ultimately SSG is the one making final decisions about the direction of the game. And if someone says something rude or offensive to me, I try to keep in mind that I know nothing about the person behind the forum account and what they might be going through, so I let the forum mods be the ones to deal with that. Some people may be trolling, others may just be having a bad day, and a few may have mental health issues or difficulties communicating, but it's the job of the forum mods to sort that stuff out so I find it's best to just ignore and move on (or report the post if it was particularly awful).

Again, I'm sorry you've been having a rough time and I sympathize with all LMs who are also struggling with the changes. LOTRO is a big part of many players' lives, and some people have been playing their LMs for 17 years; it's natural to be quite attached after all that time. I hope SSG can find a way to address some of our concerns about the rework, but if not then I hope everyone can find a way to continue enjoying the game, even if it means playing a new class or taking a break for a time. At the end of the day, LOTRO is a game and it is meant to bring joy into your life, not stress and pain. I hope you can find some peace ?

If you wonder where the moderator is, where the developer is, why some people think they can treat criticism here the way they do.. I suggest you take 5 minutes and create a discord account, go to Ghyn's server and read the Lore-master changes thread there. That will be veery enlightening.
This game once had such a nice community.

Problem is people will associate the game with some of the comments and noise there. It is very difficult to unsee some of the things they consider acceptable behavior. There are heated discussions and disagreements here, but they are moderated and rules are enforced.

Thank you so much for the kindness and support, it really means a lot to me.

I certainly know the feeling, having become so attached to my Lm, I hardly ever played anything else.

Those are wise words you said, and I'm probably responding to often to some posts that I should just be ignoring. Like part of me thinks that if I don't respond, they are getting the upper hand on me, but it seems in truth that sometimes my response to rudeness is actually giving them the upper hand.

I'm probably going to keep playing my Lm, I can't find anything else I want to play, and I don't want to start all over with a new class. I'm playing the Mass Effect series of games in partial replacement of Lotro. For now I'm playing Lotro in very limited fashion since the Lm changes.

Thank you again

Excellent choice :) The Mass Effect series is another one of my favourites. Actually, I haven't played through the legendary edition yet so I might also give that a whirl while waiting to see where the LM class ends up.

I find that it's necessary to take a step back from LOTRO every now and then to make sure I continue to enjoy it, especially after changes that I dislike. This is definitely one of those times for me. I've also found that I can only handle the forums in small doses. I don't enjoy getting into debates with people, so I just post my feedback and leave the rest up to SSG.

The good thing is that they've received a lot of feedback about the LM changes from a wide variety of players. Hopefully there will be some class tweaks on the way which will make the new LM more enjoyable for those of us who are unhappy. Otherwise, I'm hoping it will grow on me over time. I have a lot invested in my two highest level LMs and I really don't want to retire them. I've done too many annoying grinds on those characters that I don't want to repeat lol.

This is/was an official discussion thread about upcoming Lore-master changes in Update 41. Since the update has been released, the other discussions within the rules can continue elsewhere. This thread is now closed since it has become a moderation headache due to fighting and off-topic insults.
