Yes, but unlike the previous VIP name reservation, this time it is not limited to 3 character slots, and you can play immediately after making characters. I do NOT know if transfers are available immediately. I would expect not, they will probably make sure the new server is stable and happy, and then enable transfers to it.

The opening post shows that transfers will be available an hour later.

Edit: "The new Grond (EU) server will open to VIP gameplay on Wednesday, April 9th at 2:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT). Following that, Grond (EU) will open for to all for play and transfers starting at 3:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT)".

Did you have a premium or a classic kinhouse?

Everything I had in classic kinhouses was in escrow before I transferred.
It's not my fault stuff is not there.
And I don't fall short because I don't have screenshots.
I decided to not go overboard and make those, because I trusted SSG's databases and their statements.

Were I to transfer now though, yes I would pack up.

I went from a classic kin house on Gladden to a premium kin house on Peregrin. A lot of stuff was on the escrow broker, but not all.

If either yourself or someone else has a Character Name that will cause anyone "transferring into the server with that name to get a -# attached".

If you get a -# attached to your name equals a Free Rename.

Yes it was and not just once. It is procedure recommended by SSG that you make characters just to secure their names.
Whenever you transfer any character from any server to any other and that name is already used on destination server then name of that character is forcibly changed to name-1 (or greater number) plus you get rename token (can be used once). It is fully automatic mechanism and works since years, it's not introduced this year with this migration.

Sting <-> Grond provides greater thematic variety than Sting <-> Anduril. As far as weapons go, you can't really get more different than Sting and Grond, since Saruman's canon doesn't really get a proper name.

Why Sting, it is horrible, I hate it. I was so looking forward to going to the new server from Glamdring, but may as well stay now. So many good names to choose from and they had to name it something crappy like Sting...

Restart transfer. The hourglass will disappear only after your Lotro Points are listed in the bottom left corner. Under Options>General select "Keep Launcher open".

If your lotro coin total doesn't show on the bottom left then it won't ever work. Keep going out and coming back until you seem them. When you do then it will work.

Try again. It will fill up with your worlds when those worlds are available for transfer from.

It's just 'very not nice' that classic kinhouse owners go through this. I hope you get all your items back.

Ok, went through and got the transfers and the houses.
The "your worlds" remains empty, as long as a transfer is still processing. (I'm following the recommended order of kinleader - house owner etc)

Transferred a few characters from Meriadoc to Grond at 4.24 pm EST. Transfer completed at 4.26 pm EST.

Currently there are 128 non-anonymous players on Grond and the AH has less than 1 page of entries.
70% of the 100 players listed are under level 25.

So far things seem to be working well with no issues related to transfer, housing, or Grond the server. We're keeping an eye on this thread, the Discord, and elsewhere.
