I am VIP but one of my characters on Gladden, Was VIP but when I returned to Bree to get the VIP status renewed, it wasn't available for me. I can play the character but I cannot reselect VIP to get it renewed. My online account is paid for a year, and doesn't come back up for repurchase until later this year.

New characters which there is two are able to reup the VIP status, but the above named character doesn't get the option to do so even though other avatars on the servers are playing and VIP status is active. What should I do?

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting SSG Customer Support regarding your request.

Our ability to provide gameplay help or walkthroughs is limited from here in in-game CS, I would suggest consulting with the community either in-game or on our official forums to gain a better understanding of gameplay content. We are not necessarily able to discuss game mechanics or design decisions and we generally urge players to discover new game features on their own or as part of the community, either through the various The Lord of the Rings fan websites or through our official forums.

As a courtesy, if you are referring to VIP Rewards granted by the quest and its subsequent rewards such as Subscriber Town Services, it may be that your character is now required to complete the quest Chapter 11: Forged Anew as you have now surpassed the maximum level cap of level 44 for the first initial Subscriber Town Services. This occurs from level 45 and onwards, and after completing the quest Chapter 11: Forged Anew, the quest rewards you the minimum level 45 variant, which offers Legendary Item Forge service.

If you believe there is an error with the in-game content, please provide a screenshot containing your character and the occurring issue to assist in further investigation, thank you.

So I paid for VIP for a year, and now this character I had played is not able to get the VIP status because of the level it was at, and I cannot go back and finish the quest they spoke of, because I wasn't sure what to do, and now this character is worthless for me now... I am perturbed to say the least. So I figured there was nothing I could do, so I emptied the money and anything I could sell to another character in Gladden I have.

Is VIP not going to work after say level 44 as they said? So all the money and time spent I am not going to progress past lvl 44 for any characters I play on any server I play so this doesn't happen again?

How old is this character (in real life)? I vaguely remember a player who had left the game for a good while, when there was no Novice status in the game mechanics. When he returned, he could not make his character ride a mount iirc, because you needed Novice status for it, and the mail in the mailbox had expired long ago. Did something similar happen to this character?

The quest they are referring to is Volume 2: Book 1, Chapter 11.

The reason is because the VIP services changes when you change from level 44 to level 45 to include the legendary forge allowing you to reforge your legendary items.

This takes all of about an hour to complete and walk through on a character honestly, and an entire overreaction.

As a further point, characters aren't specifically VIP or not VIP, all of your characters are VIP and enjoy the full paid benefits, the town subscriber services was an extra addition they added back at level 130, it just so happens, there is a quest requirement associated with it, this isn't a big deal.

It might seem a over- reaction, but, it isn't as clear as some might think after you get to Rivendell to do the quest. It is a big deal to some, as when you aren't positive you should reforge or not when you get the weapon, to not being sure if accepting or not accepting any further quests is important. It seemed like the quest ended, but since I don't remember how to check out completed deeds /quests it might be I messed that up without knowing. The account has been active for at least a year maybe more. And the character probably 6 months to a year..

The steps by steps intruction that say what to do with
the legendaries & on what moment are all written on the legendary quest. Also there is LOTRO wiki guides. I just don't get how that is related with th OP complain about toon not getting VIP benefit. Seems like a lot information about what was his issue is missing.

To check completed Quests, open your Quest log and check the Show Completed checkbox near the Search option. To check completed Deeds, go to the Deed page you need and check the Completed checkbox near the Filter option.

As this particular part of the Epic is both required for some future actions/benefits (e.g the Reward Track) and had many players frustrated (e.g. when to do the first reforge), additional info has been added to the quest dialogue. Pay attention, especially to the text in red and you'll be fine.

Here's the wiki entry about it -> https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Quest:Chapter_11:_Forged_Anew

Hitting lvl 45 and later getting the Seeker of Deep Places title, changes your "status" a bit. You now qualify for getting your LI weapon and everything good and bad that comes with it.

As for the VIP services changes after lvl 45 -> https://lotro-wiki.com/wiki/Item:Subscriber_Town_Services

It's certainly a quest line where you must stick to the RED TEXT . It is not seamless in implementation. Used to be the case you'd be told to contact support to get you out of the problem. It taxes the best of us to resolve it. Cappy summon into archive was one suggestion if you have the first LI. You need Deep Places deed however. Support could give you that.

P.S. used to be you could enter Moria from the back door, level 9 for my lowest char, doubt it works due to changes in the World.

I notice the wiki says that the legendary variant requires Seeker of Deep Places. I've never had any problems with characters lvl 45 or higher, but I've always completed Forged Anew shortly after getting Deep Places. It sounds like Deep Places triggers the legendary variant, but you're not allowed to get it if you haven't completed Forged Anew.

Guess it's just to make sure that everyone finishes Vol.2, Book 1 and have their LI ready before getting access to the VIP remote reforge services.

11 - Forged Anew is an introduction to the reforge system, 12 - Watcher, gets you the Seeker title, 13 - Khazad, gives you the LI.

I think I only got that Epic part seamlessly last year, on the 10th toon to reach Moria ;)
