Sturdy Steel Keys Being Deprecated in Update 37

We will find future avenues to get the items from these that still have value to you, I know the Red-painted Steed is expected to arrive in a future reward track. The Pick a Mount box will need some discussion. Anything else?

Have you considered adding keys as a barter option for Tokens of Heroism? Currently the rewards for doing T3+ landscape are pretty sparse.

This would provide a nice gearing option for players leveling on higher landscape difficulties (who don't have a max level crafter to feed them gear) as well as giving end-game players a reason to use landscape difficulty for the cosmetics, etc.

Would give players a reason to remove loot boxes from their item filter and make them a desirable drop.

Since Cordovan mentioned Sturdy Steel Keys and related lootboxes, and did not mention Black Steel Keys and those related lootboxes, it seems appropriate to assume that Black Steel Keys and related lootboxes will not be removed. These Black Steel Key lootboxes are:
It is almost never safe to assume and Turbine should be very clear about what's happening. Thank you for your attempt, but it's their job.

Well, this is easy to fix. Just add Tome of Defence, +5% damage and +5% Morale/Power into reward track and into 100+ random chests in Reward Track
add a vendor that uses the scripts as currency. :)
With all the items from current reward tracker and previous ones.

Considering there is absolutely no clear and definitive statement from Turbine, just massive rumors, there is every reason to complain.

Cords original post on the forums was for the Black Keys and their lootbox's . Then, he post on the login screen it was Sturdy Steel Keys and that confused me. So I'm sure Sturdy Steel Keys will work after U37 as long as you have Dusty's Lootbox's. I cannot find the posts regarding the Black Steel Keys anymore so either their is drugs in my coffee and IM high orrrr it was a misquote from the start....anyone else read those Black Key Posts? Don't really have to reply cause I will be able to sleep regardless but sure would like to get unconfused. Thanks! ;)

The black keys stay, the sturdy steel, go.
Take your keys and go to Lalia's in Bree, and you can buy the needed boxes ( open them immediately, dont wait til after 37 patch )

And one of the things on sale this week is keys. Gee, not conflicting messages. Not a all...

Well.... If they kept to their original planning, only black steel keys would have been on sale. I think the sales are "standard sets" of things that rotate, and it was the turn for keys. The Sturdy Steel ones would not have been on sale if U37 launched as planned..... there are some other things that changed, such as the start of the first crafting event, and I can't help but think that this weekend's crafting experience bonus was planned to go along with the crafting update in U37.

Games are no longer games, they are businesses. Games are fun, paying through the nose to obtain what should be obtainable through play (and much less grindy than now) is a business.
As always Commerce gets their greedy little hands on something we all love and screws with it.
"E" sports..LOL dont make me laugh, its called "generate more revenue " Sports

Removing some old outdated content what almost no one use don't turn game from fun into business.

If you consider lootbox "fun" then go play gambling instead lol. ?. I'm even more glad when a lootbox mechanic getting removed instead of adding more lootboxes

Why you consider what Lotro will be less fun after they remove that keys and lootboxes?
The fun of gambling, I guess... lootboxes has been a downside in gaming for a long long time. The purpose of gacha/lootbox is to generate adrenaline for some players and make them pay more. There are reasons that EU trying to ban lootboxes rn

hmmm, if ssg said weeks before, that the sturdy key n old lootbox would keep the same (they can still be used), just no way to get them after U37, instead of suggesting "better use them before U37", I would keep many many of my sturdy keys and old boxes in my bags for much much longer time.....

Yeah :) getting some of the old data out of circulation, can lessen it, and every little bit helps :)
I dont have a clue on LOTRO's system, but it might help them later when working on issues to have them gone.
