Rise of Isengard (75) content - reflections, issues and suggestions

Friendly reminder, that without any rework 75 cap boss (at least one, and too much by one) at t1 will have less morale than 50lvl boss.
Such lack of consistency obviously should be adressed.
<on another hand, few days ago I runned full helegrod raid- rewards were for 100lv+ 🤦‍♂️ >

Release the 75 areas, the landscape content on the 13th. We can do deeds, reputation, quests, crafting etc etc, then, about a month later, release the instances. reworked, updated rewards and boss morale, damage etc. I know the crafted items might also need rework, but that can all be changed in a later update, the stats that it. Most important is to rework the instances IMHO.

The issue

As Cordovan and Onn are aware, there has been strong backlash against the decision to schedule the release of Rise of Isengard/Great River content on Angmar and Mordor on 13 August. Players are disappointed that one of the most enjoyable and rich pieces of content in the game, Rise of Isengard and Great River, are being released without any update to difficulty, rewards or itemisation.
Small correction to your statement. U44 (without any release notes) rise difficulty in ToO and Throne raids. You gave examples of smaller group content which indeed didn't get any buffs but raids switched to enhancements from difficulty. So for t1 now is t1,5 and for t2 it is t3 (t1,5 & t3 in old difficulty system ofc). I wrote about it in some other thread about raid and instances. Draigoch morale was also buffed so team on level can dps between fellowship actions (but animation bug didn't get fix).
ToO is extremely rich in very precise mechanic raid (it is important to understand some attack patterns to each 1s and each 1% of Morale) so I hope any changes that appear there won't spoil fun of mechanical victories. Even small mistake can lead to great frustration.

To add to that, raid is unplayable at the moment due to severe server lag, so most of us can't finish the OD raid(s). And we want a chance to get the T2C deeds on level, please.

Yes, please delay one month and give the expansion the care it needs. You can not afford to drop the ball here.
They dropped the ball twice with 60 and 65 cap updates to old instances and killed the best content the game had on the live servers as well and lost 90% of legendary server population as a result. They cannot afford to make the same mistake at 75 cap. Do not touch Isengard.

That's obviously not true.

What "killed" anything here is the setup of making Angmar/Mordor the only 64 bit servers and Mordor being the only server physically placed in the EU. Those advantages made the servers appeal to a lot of players along with the initial appeal of SoA and MoM.
Once Live servers had the same advantages of being 64 bit (and some being in EU) and MoM was basically played through, people left overnight to get their 32 bit characters to the new servers and play there instead.

SSG executive producer Rob “Severlin” Ciccolini apologized directly for the fiasco in Discord, suggesting that as many as 100,000 characters were in the queue. “It is my fault; I just underestimated the immediate demand to transfer, and for that I apologize,” he said.
That demand to play on the new Live servers is the main culprit for the loss of players on Angmar and Mordor.

With the lack of difficulty fix for Rise of Isengard, they're basically about to lose the last players who have stayed on the Legendary Servers.

I love people, which believe in something so strongly, that they will pretend, that it is only reason ❤️

Your "killed" 60lvl cap had 800/900 players before launching free 64 bits, and making 60 and 65 instances easier caused...literally 0 increasing online.

Just saying.

And since we are just 1 week from 75 cap without any changes- in 1 month I will deliver you chart with online, with daily data, always from same hour. If they dont "kill" content it for sure will results with massive increasing of playerbase size, right?

Losing 64 bit exclusivity was a big factor sure but it's far from the main culprit. If it were and Moria updates were as good as people claimed or even "so much better" then they would not be dead content in the live servers now would they?

Moria and Mirkwood balance updates were a complete and utter flop. Never had seen Moria content on live servers be abandoned so sharply by the playerbase in the 16 years prior to the balance update. It has objectively failed it's purpose. Any denial of this fact is just laughing matter as you cannot prove against losing 90% of legendary server population and can only make justifications.

"Anything but the balance patch!" is old and stale at this point. That argument was destroyed promptly back in November 2024 and many times in between. It's time to find something more plausible and based on reality.

That's an interesting way to say you never played on Anor, Ithil, Treebeard or Shadowfax, all of which practically died three weeks after Moria launched.

Of course it's the main culprit, along with the "freshness" of content. Look at any other legendary server prior to this. Once the freshness of Moria wore off after a couple of weeks, activity plummeted.
I don't see why Moria on live servers is of much relevance, people who really wanted to play Moria would go to the Legendary Servers and play it. Once they've done that, they'd go back to live server content. Once Angmar/Mordor are well past lvl 65 (or close altogether), we can start looking at how live server communities are interacting with Moria content.

That is simply not true. Stat squish was looong time ago and I lead midlvl raiding group that do raids every Sunday for last few years. One of our most often played raid is ToO so I'm very much up-to date about that. When u44 changed difficulty to enhancement in BG and OD it also changed ToO and Throne (there was no release notes about that ofc). I would like to remind you that whole old content (Turbine times) runs on difficulty and not enhancements. Enhancement comes with SSG and changes to old instances. The changes to ToO and Throne are only numerical ones (not mechanical).
The change is not huge so characters lvl 150 may not notice it but when you fight it on lvl that is different story.
I posted about it in instance section of this forum in 12 May with numerical changes that my party experience (https://forums.lotro.com/index.php?threads/surprising-enhancement-too-throne.21331/).
Last super laggy Sunday we tried to do ToO t2 Electricity wing. Lag won but between frozen moments I got hit by distributed dmg troll attack and it dealt 20k dmg instead of old 12k.
We already get used to it in ToO (although haven't beat all of that yet). But rise in difficulty in both mentioned by me raids is a fact. I'm puzzled by @OnnMacMahal statement and can provide lots of screens to prove what I wrote before.

At end I repeat myself from this other thread I mentioned and quote its fragment:
"To those who don't know what is the difference between difficulty t2 and enhancement t2.
Difficulty t2 and enhancement t2:
Morale: +100% -> +200%
Damage: +75% -> +200%
Armour: +20% -> +35%
Ratings: +20% -> +35%

Example on ToO t2 Iorweth boss:
- Boss morale: 3 millions -> 4,6 million morale
- stackable "small" bleed on tank: 565 -> 969"

As I said before t1 now is t1,5 and for t2 it is t3 (t1,5 & t3 in old difficulty system ofc). It is so since u44. That is a fact.
If someone need print screens as proof pls let me know.

I'd also like to see more than one raid lock a week for ToO. In the 4 month cycle we have GR/Dunland that means I only get to run it 12x.

Not losing players does not equate to gaining new players. SSG has already lost a large amount of its playerbase due to previous changes and decisions. Leaving Isengard alone may not bring those players back, but it can definitely prevent more exodus of players that decided to stay through it. I dont believe we will see an increase in players, but hope we do.

Edit - corrected "lost trust in large majority" to a more accurate statement

Orthanc bosses currently have less health than bosses from Moria and in some cases level 50 content. A raid of one handed monkeys can complete orthanc on level.

Not losing players does not equate to gaining new players. SSG has already lost the trust of a large majority of its playerbase due to previous poor changes. Leaving Isengard alone may not bring those players back, but it can definitely prevent more exodus of players that decided to stay through it. I dont believe we will see an increase in players, but hope we do.
1. "SSG has already lost the trust of a large majority of its playerbase due to previous poor changes." is just a blanket statement. There are many reasons why people might leave LotrO, including lag, dated combat and other issues - or simply finding other games they'd rather play. There's also no numbers to back up your "large majority".
2. That would obviously depend on why they decided to stay through it. Some are clearly still here because they enjoy those exact changes they made, and might leave now that they're not going to make the needed changes.
3. I'd be very surprised if there isn't a jump in player activity with new levelcap. The question is how long it will take before people have completed all T2Cs and logged off.

Why we still comment and complain? They don t care about players. The servers gonna die after Isengard.. thats happend with all legendary servers.
200 players now on Sunday when all are free is dissapointed. Will drop much more :)
