New angler outfit set

Does anyone like the new cosmetics added to Myrtle Mint? I dont. I think they make you like outfitted snowman. Bulky, huge boots, bulky, pumped upperbody set. No shape. Ugly colour. Why are we getting those huge, too big boots lately? They look like made for an elephant not for humans or even humanoids. I like a chair from angler set and a horse. Horse is really nice. The hat is ok too. But outfit... omg.. have mercy.. :(

Darn. I can't find a pic of the set, but your description gives me a sad.

Granted, I like the current Fisherman's Waistcoat outfit, so the new thing has a high bar to beat imo. (editted, item name correction)

You can preview this set at Myrtle Mint near Boar fountain in Bree. And agreed about the old Fisherman's vest and waders. They look houndred times better.

Thnx for the ss, Happy.

The backpack looks good, but that outfit... Oof. If we were on crabbing boats in the Bering Strait, maybe.

edit:
Now that I've had a chance to log in and see the previews myself, I can see what the designer was going for - fly fishing waders. Unfortunately, they do come across more as the thick insulated suits worn on fishing/crabbing boats in extremely cold climes.

Have you noticed the fishing net on his back? His loose waterproof pants and the fishing net are both for going directly into the river to catch fish. While that fishing rod is for staying from the shore n fishing.

No, I do not like it.
As I’ve mentioned in numerous other posts, whoever is in charge of designing outfits should go back to the roots, take inspiration from places like Dunland and Rohan outfits/landscape drops for example. Stay true to the Middle-earth aesthetic instead of leaning toward the flashy, WoW-style designs we’ve been seeing far too often lately. Also, nearly all the recent shoes and boots have this odd, small-toe design that just looks off.

I also don't care for the Able Angler outfit because of how bulky it is, and it's not dyeable enough. Sure, the shirt under the waders dyes, but the waders don't. If I remember correctly from when I checked yesterday, only the trim on the rest of the clothing changes color. So basically ... it's a dull shade of tan /shudder

The hat is also completely dyeable, but otherwise you are spot on from what I checked. Sometimes a poorly designed outfit can be saved by playing with what dyes are on it, but this one doesn't even give us that chance. Aside from the hat and the pack, I'll definitely be sticking with the aforementioned old fishing gear for my fishers. I guess it's a good thing Forochel is one of my favorite questing zones!

I guess I'll stay capped on the figments. How many fishing outfit does the game need ? I think it's the 3rd one ? It's oddly specific.

I also don't like it at all. Honestly I wouldn't want a set for free except to convert it to figments. I just can't imagine that there were bunches of players sitting around thinking, "You know what I really want . . . another fishing outfit."

I'm going to wade in ( 🤭 ) and say the outfit is not for me, either. The idea of water-proof anything is immersion-breaking, and the boots are an especially poor idea. I know that many people who play Hobbits equip footwear, but they can't all be Stoors.

I'd have been in raptures if the outfit was a combination of a scruffy shirt and trousers, with with both the sleeves and trouser cuffs rolled up. In lieu of boots, a neckerchief would have gone down well, rather like the "Ascot" scarf, but patterned. Or even dirty.

The odd dirty, frayed or patched outfit would really appeal. If I'm going to part with currency, it's going to be for something you don't generally get from game-play.

They really need to hire someone with a better creative vision. Many of the new cosmetics they've released are pretty mediocre. They only put effort into the ones that come in the ultimate versions of expansions and the patron coffers...

Considering that this set is dropping from boxes asking for store bought keys to open one would think more efford could be put in design of an outfit. Dissapointing.

It's a big issue. It's not that they have no talents for making the outfit. The issue is how they keep making the same things. Yes, they change it and I don't say it's copy pasted, but how many plate armor do we need before it's enough ? Or all the "metal skirt" armour ?

Design is where it's lacking. They sure are talented to make it, but not to innovate. It's like people who can copy a Picasso or whatever. Incredibly skilled in painting, obviously, as they are able to make copy equalling the masters. But none of the creativity that make those painting unique.

Once in a while they try something new, then they get back to their comfort zone and forget it ever happened. Like shield on back cosmetic. It was well received to, it's not like people said it was bad, but they moved away from it.
