I just returned to Angmar. I left at the level cap of level 75 so I have several level 75 toons waiting for me, and I am leveling through Rohan.
I have been through this journey before. I was on Anor. I was on Treebeard. And now on Angmar. And what I realized that in ALL THREE cases, the community was fantastic all throughout level 50, 60, even up to level 65.... and then it started to fall off. The amount of fun we had in our kinship was what made the community on the Legendary Servers to fantastic, and they were FULL, I remember nights averaging 800-900 people, and you have to remember that unlike a normal server...... these are limited in physical content to level 50 or 60 (at the time) and as such that group of people is confined to a much smaller space.
The 21st hall sometimes had 50, 60 people in it. People waiting to start a raid setup hookah pipes and camp fires, people played music, there were always some clowns around...... it was ALIVE!
But..... each server took the same path. 50 was extremely popular. 60 was still extremely popular. Then 65...... interest started falling. And by the time Isengard dropped half of the population had gone. Back to their servers of origin. Playing other games.
That said, I do love the wraith mechanic...... and after leveling a few characters to 160 on Peregrin, I am now enjoying leveling again on Angmar. I have never done Rohan on a Legendary world, because I left each one at level 75..... so this time I think I will stick it out longer, and get some of the Legendary only Nazgul rewards.
I do also know one thing: I will be back. The next Legendary Server, when it starts, I will be there again at the start. Starting completely from scratch. With absolutely nothing. And get involved with the right kinship again, and enjoy the fantastic community a Legendary Server is for the first 75 levels or so. And maybe I will move on after that once again...... but I will have enjoyed the madness and community once more. You just do not find that on the regular worlds.
