Leveling up low-level characters with one high-level

Hello!

I want to know if it is allowed in the game to level up low-level characters with one high-level character by one person? I think it's called "multiboxing", but I'm not sure.

So, let's say I take level 150, create three new characters, make them follow me, and at level 150 I kill various enemies quite quickly, due to which low-level characters quickly gain a lot of experience.

Is this allowed?

Egor

P. S. I wrote to support, they didn't give me any useful answers. I understand that there will be those who will say "read the rules", but my native language is Russian, it's not very easy for me to understand the rules, which I still need to translate into my language. I understand that I'm not the only one, not everyone's native language is English, and yet, if there are those who understand this better than me, then please help.

Hello Egor,

I hope you got a good answer months ago, but I'll share what I think is the correct answer. It's generally accepted that the rules allow multi-boxing like what you described. They don't allow having a bot or macro that automatically handles the playing of multiple characters, but manually controlling the characters and having them /follow each other when necessary should be fine. I'm actually trying to do something similar at the moment. I have a very low-level elf and her high-level friend from one of my other accounts who will soon be travelling together through a very dangerous area for an Anniversary Scavenger Hunt quest. :)

One more thing in case you haven't tried it yet. In order to play multiple characters simultaneously, you'll need to create multiple accounts, one for each character you want to play at the same time. You can do this for free with LOTRO. You'll just need a different email to set up each account.

Best of luck and happy adventuring!

I believe this is also called "power leveling". It is generally frowned upon by players, but as far as I know it is not against the rules. A drawback to doing this is that the character being power-leveled is not improving their class skills. This is not how I prefer to play, but to each their own.

This *is* the other place.
As Ulugo says - running low levels around while a 150 kills enemies will get them no xp at all so there really is no point to it. I believe the level difference allowed varies depending on character level but it is never mo0re than 8.

The others make very good points about level difference and XP. I was focused on if it violates the rules, and I lost sight of the fact that your question is about actually leveling up the lower level characters. My apologies.
