Landroval RP?

Firstly any answer is quite short term. Many, maybe most, roleplayers will be moving to the new RP servers. Landroval may become a ghost town. It may not. It assuredly will be different a month after the transfers than it is now. In some good ways, perhaps. Maybe a much higher percentage of players remaining there will be true roleplayers that are less focused than others on 64-bits.
The usual suggestion which I endorse is if you cannot find roleplaying in the Prancing Pony or other public spots - look for a roleplaying kinship or alliance of kinships.

As an NA player on Laurelin, I'd strongly encourage you to join us there! Roleplay on Laurelin is on the upswing, and it is very much heavy, story-based roleplay. We have bands, sure, but a majority of RP on Laurelin is focused on interactions between characters and the development of plots, etc.
I expect it will be the same on Meriadoc (EU-RP), when many of us RPers on Laurelin transfer there.
Anyway, check us out! I know quite a few Landroval refugees are now happily RPing on Laurelin!

I second Nenaras. Laurelin and (later) Meriadoc will be where it's at. I am also a refugee from Landroval who went over to Laurelin some time ago.

If nothing else lowering the number of servers might actually force all the RPers to be in one place...will they actually RP once they've moved? That I can't answer

Thirding Nenaras! RP on Laurelin (and Meriadoc soon) is booming right now. Landroval was my first server when I joined and I quickly changed to Laurelin. Found RP day one. Come join us!

I tried to go to Laurelin, myself, but the EU hours and the NA hours seem to make it hard to do much. Are there any NA rp'ers on Laurelin?

I apologize if I'm stepping on Nenaras's toes, but I suspect he would say the same thing, which is that there are plenty. As it happens, both of us are NA RPers, and there's a pretty healthy NA population. Feel free to poke your head into the discord server via the link in Aranarion or Nenaras's signatures; it will take you to the current hub for the RP population on Laurelin and you can see that there's plenty of people and activity there.

it's a self fulfilling prophecy... there will never be rp on Landy if potential NA rpers are plundered by those on Laurelin. I really hope rp can flourish again with Peregrin, so that BOTH that and Meriadoc can enjoy a healthy rp population, and reduce this "we're better than them" mentality

I think the populations on Landroval and Laurelin are an accident of history, tbh.
With a smaller game population, LOTRO's community of RPers is only going to be so big, which naturally leads to one RP server being more lopsided than the other, and once that happens, well, it's only natural that players interested in RP will drift towards the server that has a larger community of RPers. I'm always candid that that server is Laurelin; it feels unfair to lie to folks and tell them RP is as healthy on both servers, when it's not.
I personally don't care what server I'm on - where that server is located, what it's name is - so long as it hosts a healthy population of RPers: Laurelin has that and Meriadoc is very likely to as a consequence. I'm assuming a fair amount of RPers feel the same as me, and so that's why I always strongly encourage them to, at the very least, check out Laurelin by literally logging in and checking out some of the weekly RP events (Dwarven Caravan Market, Hall of Fire Wedensdays, At the Sign of the Prancing Pony, etc.), or by browsing the Laurelin Archives and various Discords.

why accident of history? there's an rp server in EU, there's one in NA. no accident there, it's by design
Landroval and Laurelin always had an underlying friendly rivalry going way back when the game had, and imo it is only a loss that Landy ended up the way it did. Which is why I want Peregrin to be successful and rp to not be so one sided. You assume that people who want rp want to come to EU... but they have the possibility of starting a new community now and that's what should happen, on the new server. 2 active rp servers is better than 1, yes? And poaching is very poor taste.

No! I'd love for everybody to be in the same spot to make the world as full of lively and lovely characters as possible. More people to play with for everyone!
