Kinship escrow items missing after transfer.

After the announcement that the issue with missing kinship escrow items after transfers was resolved I moved several kins from Peregrin to Sting. In each case the escrow items were missing. I opened tickets for each case, 9 total, a process that took a long time, each stating a variant of

"I transferred all my kin from Peregrin to Sting last night / this morning. I sold the kin house before transferring, and the escrow items were there, but didn't make it. I tried transferring shared items again, but it didn't help."

and each ticket was closed with the response below. How can SSG ignore a major issue like this? I've played this game since 2007 and have paid thousands of dollars in expansions, subscriptions, and more, and to see this kind of behavior is really disappointing.

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Standing Stone Games Customer Support regarding your request.

We appreciate your patience while navigating your way through the new 64 bit worlds! We're excited to announce that the phased opening of Premium and Classic Housing in The Lord of the Rings Online has started on Monday, March 31st! To ensure a smooth rollout, housing has been opened by neighborhood and in alphabetical order, with Premium housing first followed by Classic housing.

The belongings and history of the ownership of your house will go with your character to your destination world. When you log into the destination world you will have a mail that contains an attachment of currency equal to the purchase cost of the house. All of your items will be in Escrow Housing Storage, and character-bound items will be returned to their appropriate characters. You will need to purchase a new Premium home with the writs you receive if you wish. Housing Storage Upgrades persist with your new home when you have a new housing chest.

After purchasing your first house, all items will then be relocated from the escrow broker to the home's housing storage for your retrieval. If these items are not present, they may still be located on their origin world within the Shared Housing Storage. We hope that you can refer to these locations in order to find all of your items.

You can read more about housing clarities with the link provided below. Please feel free to reach out again with any questions or concerns, thank you!

Somebody else got this same message -- > https://forums.lotro.com/index.php?threads/update-summarily-dismissed.22179/

This wording is totally off.

Their plan was to restore items to the old worlds.
Maybe they are copy/pasting the wrong message in these responses, and want people to check the old world?

Also, does this plan fail, when they take the old servers offline I wonder.

I've been waiting quite awhile for my kinship items., checking KH storage chests and kinship escrow. Today they showed up -- in my shared vault!

So maybe check in vaults as well as escrow - might get a surprise like I did :)

You wouldn't believe the hoops this CS agent has had me jump through. He's even had me take screen shots of the escrow broker to prove the items aren't there, and that's just the start. Now he tells me that it was my fault because I didn't retrieve the items from escrow before I transferred. That isn't the way it works. A shared item transfer is all you have to do.

And now he has restored, so he says, the items to escrow on Peregrin, and that I have to go there and get the items. Unfortunately my kin has moved to Sting, so it no longer exists on Peregrin, nor do any characters for me to go retrieve the items.

I tried transferring one of my kin leaders back to Peregrin (last day to do that!) but the kin was recreated on Sting when I transferred there, so he is no longer the kin leader of the kin on Peregrin. In fact, the Sting kin disbanded when he arrived.

I can try to do a shared item transfer tomorrow, when transfers are allowed again from Peregin to Sting, but I don't know what to do beyond that.

All this guy wants is to close the ticket and get rid of me. He has no understanding of how the game works, and doesn't care to learn. I think my time with LotRO may be coming to a close now, gang. I have literally thousands of items at risk here, many collected over 18 years in the game, and I don't think I can enjoy the game after that kind of loss, especially when the people at SSG won't lift a finger to help me.

Edit: I guess I should have said hundred of stacks of items, rather than thousands of items. Sloppy wording.

This is all you need to do. Shared storage transfer can be done without a character on the server who can access the escrow. It means you have to take the word of a questionable CS that the items are indeed there, but at least you can still access them to transfer.

To guard against the items not being there, maybe screenshot the size of your shared storage before and then after the transfer. If nothing arrives, you can then use that plus your transfer confirmation email to prove you did what you were suppose to.

Good luck. Even as a long time CS worker, I can no longer defend SSG's CS. What is going on here is just inexcusable.

Thanks. I will do that.

I am pleased to report that all has now been resolved, and I want to credit Sir Michael with sticking with it and seeing this to a successful conclusion. We had a rocky start, and it took a lot of work on both our parts, but he saw it through and resolved the issues. Perhaps I was too hasty in my earlier comments. Thanks to y'all for giving me a safe place to vent, in any case.

My escrow stuff is still missing also. Raised a ticket in April with photos of what I had in storage. Got a reply in May saying Update 44.2 had fixed the problem. Sadly it did not for me. Replied to ticket and still waiting. I have given up hope of seeing my stuff again. Thankfully it was not massive amounts of gear but I had accumulated it over many years so feel a bit ripped off. Pretty much given up on decorating house and kin house now as it is not worth the ever present risk of ongoing changes and loss. Really poor outcome on the whole transfer debacle.

I am sad to hear that.
