I'd like to remind everyone on the housing community that there is a dedicated website for housing stuff!

D&Co du Milieu (also available in French) !

What is it, my precious?
D&Co du Milieu (or Deco du Milieu) is a website dedicated to LotRO Housing.
It contains a database of all the deco items available in-game, which you can filter by hooks or way to obtain.
It also has guides for you to help you find the best place to live in Middle-Earth and help you decorate your house.
And then, it's the best place (yeah, I know...) to stay tuned on housing news.

Contests
Every few months, I'm organizing a contest for housing nerds and everyone is allowed to participate.

I have been wishing for a while for a way for kinships to stay together when transfering or joining a new server, and an IT solution like this would be great. However...

The main issue is that we are moving (in each region) from 5 servers to 2 servers, with players potentially going from each of those 5. Therefore you could have as many as 5 players all with 123 Main Street, Babblingbrook neighborhood, Shire Homesteads. There's not an (easy, obvious, cost effective) IT way to resolve which of those 5 players gets priority for that house.

Not sure if I understood you correctly (apologies for that, I am not a native speaker).

I was rather suggesting to copy a previous ownership structure (for the entire settlement). Multiple previous ownership structures when players arrive from different servers (so that there would e.g. be x copies of the previous neighborhoods that were all Breeland-Grenrill on the old servers). They could be renamed so that there are no multiple Grenrills on the new server (I do not care about the old name of my settlement).
It would *not* help if you want to bundle players arriving on the new server from different old servers into one neighborhood that did not exist in this constellation on any old server before.
But would it hurt if players/communities that previously had a joint settlement on old server could continue it? Or why would that be impossible or too expensive? (And yes, I am genuinely interested in the explanation, since I am really an IT noob )

Brief interim report six months after the transfer. I once again have my own settlement in Falathlorn, and the premium houses are also back in my possession. However, only about a third has been set up again so far.
All furnishings were successfully transferred. Nevertheless, I am constantly searching for certain items, as the total of approximately 5,000 items are spread across 8 accounts and 24 chests.

Since new items have been added in the meantime, the houses are rarely furnished as they were on the old server, even though I took plenty of photos of everything. So it remains exciting.

Lotro Companion lets you add all your characters with, among other things, contents of vault/shared vaults/housing chests and so forth, to an desktop database application.

You type in a search word, the database tells you which character has the item. May come in handy.

I just tried out Companion. It certainly has many useful settings, but when it comes to housing, it's not what I need. Only the last house is loaded completely. All the others are displayed in the overview, but the details are not available. I also couldn't find a setting that allows me to filter by housing items. So I'll continue to gather the house furnishings as before.

Even with it's limitations (which are few), I find it an incredible time saver.

Every classic, premium and kin house I have is included - with all used interior and exterior decorations listed.
If I seach for an item, I scroll through those lists, without having to log in numerous times on different characters.

When I need any item that's 'on' a character - worn, bags, vault, shared vault - it's searchable.

Haven't found kinship chests (maybe these are not integrated or I simply haven't found them yet), but basic screenshots are sufficient for me.

Thanks for the reminder and for all the work you put into this! The housing site has been a great resource, especially for tracking decoration items and planning layouts.
