Corsairs of Umbar - Future Release Plans

In next reward track in february 2024
We can assume that new reward track would have new recipes, but what I meant is if that is officially stated anywhere.

There seems to be different opinions for some reason so got few kin members asking and I was not able to find official info.

It just says the gundabad recipes are removed from next track, not that umbari recipes will be there. Devs haven't confirmed anywhere that we'll get umbari recipes.
If we compare it to 140 cap, we'll probably get them in the reward track after next. But we can't say for certain. Maybe the devs will add them to next track to placate some of the player base.

That's what I wanted to know, thank you :) Wasn't sure if I missed info somewhere.

My big question is why on earth was this expansion released so early? The sheer number of dissatisfied people both here and in game show that this launch has been, at least to some degree, a failure.

This was released far too early. The supreme lack of end game content, be that worthwhile instances, crafting guilds, even basic things such as weekly quests for embers etc, prove that this expansion wasn't ready. Umbar should have had new weeklies on release, especially when the best armour in game needs embers to buy.

We would have been better staying at the last level cap until all the basics were ready. I don't mean brand new instances and raids. But at least proper weekly quests to help gearing.

Would you have less people being disappointed if it was postponed? Imagine waiting 2 months on the Carn Dum cluster. Now atleast you can level alts and gather materials. The real critism is getting the priorities straight. Crafting rework would be less urgent then giving dailies and instances in my book, and I can make a solid case on that since endgame lives on content and crafting being 2 months late does not change the old tiers to much and adds less to endgame.

Bottompoint is, many devs left SSG before Umbar, and they could not finish their tasks on time.

Given the state of the game right now, yes, I think staying at 140 would have better. I'm not necessarily saying stay at that cap for another 2+ months, but at least a month or so. It may have given them time to finish making some stuff to do. From my experience in the game I'm seeing less ppl I know logging in now, compared to the days before the expansion. Storva isn't even bringing in the crowd as much as it should as the bracelet stats don't compare with crafted stuff.

However I agree with you that SSGs priorities have been appalling. To be this far in and have no real content to do is unforgivable.

True, but those people probably will come back when instances drop. For now they just have to try keep the interest of the people who are there for landscape and build upon that, which is a difficult process. A good start is half of the work tbh.

They forced to release expansion between november 1st and december 1st. Even if they wait for december 1st nothing big happens. SSG lack of developers right now to release expansion

Ill reword what I originally said.

Is there any news about the instances? Its getting to a crazy point to not have this content now.

Might be a little late on instances but not the raid, i wouldn't call it crazy given Fate of Gundabad released about same time as Umbar and raid didn't come until late February, so not much different here with umbar stuff coming late February again.

If we haven't even seen the 3 man's on BR yet, it doesn't bode well for the rest to meet the deadline of end of March. To make it worse there's no news at all. The only news I've heard was from Cord of the Rings weeks ago, that they said we would have news, "in the coming weeks". That was weeks ago. So I'm gonna stick it's getting to a crazy point as we should have heard something by now.

Well, I hear SSG lost a lot of staff/devs recently to Blizzard (or other studios too). They hired new people but obviously it's not possible to meet previous deadlines. I'd prefer waiting longer than getting instances in alpha state rather than usual beta tbh...
I have alts to do current and in some cases previous content, plus I'm completionist so I have (too) much to do for several months probably.
But if you are not a fan of doing actual content on several character, not interested in trying new class/race or many other aspects of the game than instances and you fell you have nothing to do then imo it's good time now to take a break from Lotro for a month or 2...
We are at earliest stage of new level cap. We really don't need to gear up now in any way. When instances will drop I'm pretty sure t1 will be doable with lvl140 gear and t2 with any green/yellow/purple lvl150 and once you earn (or craft!) some gear there you will be able to do t3 and higher.
We can safely ignore embers gear now it's not needed for anything and it doesn't matter if it's BIS now or not. They will also raise ilvl on it when they release instances most likely. So i only get a piece when I need to spend some due to cap and I'm not actively doing repeatables to get more embers.

You make it sound like these two were 100% mutually exclusive.

Yes, I heard this as well (in fact I believe that Orion confirmed this).
However, I'm getting a little tired of this excuse being rolled out every time people query why content is late. Staff move around all the time, as a business you have to adapt and roll with the punches.

And before someone chips in and tells me that the new content (instances, raids) isn't late - yes it absolutely is. It is now February 2024. This is getting silly.
