Combe Forester Event has been disabled

We have temporarily disabled the Combe Forester Event while we sort through some bugs with the event. We apologize for the inconvenience, and when we have a reopening date we will let you know.
After reading all the posts about bug-using/exploiting I think this is a very wise decision. I hope you can fix it soon, because basically I like the event.

Yeah thanks Cord. we already got the more detailed and transparent memo about things from Orion long before your little blurb here about "bugs"

I don't think they deserve ban, just remove all ribbons from cheaters:)
Maybe not a permanent ban, but they deserve a few days in the timeout corner to think about why they want to destroy something new and different that was added to the game. Poor behavior should not result in rewards and being ahead of everyone. It enables the bad behavior to continue as there are no downsides if one keeps the rewards and continues to play the game using those rewards. If there is not even a slap on the wrist, what is the motivation to change and behave properly? This is the same as that other thread where people were upset because some people think it is funny to block quest NPCs and objectives at the festival. Again, no downside or consequences for the poor behavior. Maybe SSG can come up with some type of community service the cheaters and those that misbehave can perform in lieu of time off? Something needs to change here or the miscreants will continue on their path of destroying the game and making it an overall unpleasant experience to play LOTRO.

Cheaters and exploiters get baned in every other game i play. Most for life.
Lowering server population is not a good idea imo :p. But i agree with others suggesting they should loose their rewards. Problem for me though is all my first and 2nd places i've been robbed of and not getting back....

This *is* the other place.
Slaps on the wrist do not discourage cheaters. Taking away what they have gotten by cheating is good but it does not discourage cheaters much - they are no worse off than they had been before cheating. Bans to a few people - permanent bans - discourage cheaters. Word gets around fast.

From what I have read, it feels as if a small number of people decided to ruin the new event for no other reason than it ruins things for others. There are a few people who bounce around the game and servers and spend an excessive amount of time interrupting people who are minding their own business and having fun. I wish SSG would do something to discourage this type of behavior. It will ruin the game and those that caused this will move on to the next game they wish to destroy. I am of the opinion that discipline should be used to deter future bad behavior. I think you should start out with the lowest level of discipline that will change the unacceptable behavior. I am not a big fan of sledgehammers unless the infraction warranted a more severe response. I don't think they should allow these people to keep what they earned by cheating others, because it turns into being rewarded for cheating and poor community behavior. Hopefully SSG will punish the people who ruined the new forester event in a manner that puts a stop to this type of behavior. If they let them get away with it, the delinquents will just do it over and over again. The forester event will reopen and they will do things to get it shut down again.

Unless they can moderate this event or make it NOT competitive and unfair for us casual and more genuine customers and players, then they shouldn't do this in the first place.
Lotro doesn't need new and whacky games with silly prizes. The crafting is fine, I dont want them to update crafting and force people to do these silly events that are only going to be good for hardcore competitive raid type people or toxic pvp players who just go around to make everyone else miserable.
