At the VERY LEAST, might I request that update 41 releases with a crafted tool that has all the resource-gathering options on one tool? (Farmer/Scholar/Prospector/Forester) so we at least don't have to swap tools every time we come across two different nodes?
There is a tool that allows the collection of Scholar, Prospector, and Forester nodes available on the metalsmith. No, the farmer profession is not on that same toolset. Then again, you don't find farm plots randomly scattered in the wild.

I did not respond to that as I answered this earlier in the beta testing. We are not planning on make universal kits a player crafted item.

Let me take it into another direction then. What are the chances the Universal Tools available in the shop will be upgraded so they are always better than anything crafted? I mean, I am fine just buying some tools if that what it comes down to, and provide SSG with some income.... but the crit rating on the Universal Tools is less than the best crafted version currently available (Westemnet).

I wouldn't mind seeing a toolkit in the store that is similar to the Gundabad one, with the 10% token bonus increase for instance. That would be extremely welcoming as we start on a new legendary server where "one time issued" items already claimed on a live server are not going to be available.

Would it be possible to mix the toolkit and essence system to "craft" the toolkit you want?

This has been asked a few times. Orion said this wasn't going to happen in the foreseeable future due to time and resource restrictions. It's not a high priority. This does imply that we might see something like this in the future, but we shouldn't be expecting it anytime soon.

I did not say [essences for tools is] not possible. I said not in the tech. As in, not in our current tech.
Each of the updates you mentioned required the essence slotting system to be added and set-up on the specific items. The code needs to be updated to allow for those new paths.
Then we will need to make the different essence objects with new file structures and restrictions on what they can be affixed to, then the data to support the items and so on.
It is not impossible, just time and resource-consuming and not one of the highest priorities at this time.

Are the plans to push out the tentative release for next week dependant on if birding is ready? Or would you release and just delay birding until the bugs are sorted out?

Please assure you enter 'Bullroarer' as the server name when submitting bugs from this environment.
Is this like the old /bug feature or the current lame separate window which doesn't autopopulate anything? I really miss the old one and it has severely reduced the frequency of bug reports I submit since the change. (and the quick 'report player' option is sorely missed too)

Could i ask if its possible to implement something like Larger auction window, Larger crafting window and especially Larger dressing room window. They look so easy to implement for you but add so much quality of life for players. After modern mmos current small preview window from 2000 looks sad. With big cosmetics preview window when ppl will see how good cosmetics look on their toons they will definitely buy them more often in store. :D

Also i have a question why there is no legendary dagger for mariner class? You can use regular dagger in main hand. River hobbits wiil benefit from their +5% dagger damage racial trait which looks nice.

You can find many UI mods over on lotrointerface.com.

In the UI section is a larger crafting window for example:

There are plugins/themes that use a larger dressing room (I use BDRX but there are others).

While some features might seem "easy to implement" by LOTRO, for now avail yourself of the many resources the community has created. (and yes, so long as your plugins/themes are done within LOTRO's API limitations, you are allowed plugins in LOTRO).

Classes tend to have one LI weapon and one LI item. Just equip a dagger in your off-hand to benefit from the 5% bonus. I'm not passing a reason on why you can't see a main-hand LI dagger, but hope this workaround helps.
