I am really wondering why the Shire Messenger (https://auenlandboteblog.wpcomstaging.com) is not listed among the important pages. This is an area where the project urgently needs to be improved.

Hey I'm back to this thread finally I already planned a complete overhaul for the OP and already wrote some things down. But i want to make a high quality overview and this will take time i can not invest for now... So since I'll be very busy the next few months the earliest overhaul to expect would be september this year. (I'll also go through all posts in this thread that still aren't added to OP; I'll do it all within the same very big edit)
Anyways the direction of this thread is also changing/expanding and with permission from the community manager of the forums it is and will be ok to also post your favorite content creator or social channels - especially Lotro content on YouTube and Discord. This will have the lowest final priority in the overview but since it's about an URL collection i think we can include this here.
Originally this thread was planned as a simple brainstorm gathering but it got pinned and stands now with a lot of views so I think it's mandatory to expand here instead of starting another thread.
But a somewhat important note: I'll likely won't check out any of the posted discord groups in a sense of being legit and truly Lotro based so I'd hope for fitting links to those groups - but please make sure those discord groups want to gather members from a wide public range, so don't post closed groups/kin-exclusive or whatever - this thread is all about helpful URLs which are lotro related, so the bigger the discord group, the better.
I'll check YouTubers out when i have time (well historically i've already seen around 100 so if i find the time i could do the majority myself, but again i'd need time first hehe). It's also ok if they only do partly Lotro content, but there has to be a considerable amount of Lotro connection put into the channel. Same applies to Twitch Streamers.
Other social media is fine, but those should be (nearly) 100% lotro focused (just like the discords), so I'd say only YouTube and Twitch are an exception here.
Again: all languages welcome. I will later add a note to all social channels and discords which i never checked out; otherwise you can be mostly sure that i in fact did check them out a bit, as well as long URLs to fansites (which is still the main focus of this thread).
This went way longer than anticipated, wanted to only write one paragraph, lol anyways...

And a last note: PLEASE check this thread out - the old forum will be deleted in August of this year (!!!) and we try to gather the best URLs as well as archiving advice. Any contribution to this thread is welcome, even if it's just an occasional bump for the sake of it
This crosslinked thread only has 2 more months to live before becoming absolute and a relic of former times itself. It's all about posting threads/posts you personally loved in the old forums to share them with others and honor them this way as well. Thanks!

Because actually more than half links are still useful.
Someone who lost interest and stopped updating their website or even it doesn't exist any more obviously won't come here and announce that.
That doesn't mean this thread shouldn't be pinned any more, unless most links are useless, but we are not at this point.
Many people, especially new or returning will find great resources there.

Sorry but I don't really know who you are and what this is in relation to. I'm not denying your decade of commitment, but if you feel my comment was directed at you, I'm not picking on any one link in particular. I see you have some websites in your signature. Is the comment about them not being in the OP? Because this is the first time I've seen those links to be honest. More aggregation for this type of thing would be win win for everyone wouldn't you agree? Maybe you just need to get it out there more too?

Updating would be good for sure, the question is who would be responsible for that...
Possibly Cordovan could, but it's not in his scope of duties. Besides someone who made a website that still exist but is somewhat obsolete at this point could be mad at removing it from thread etc.
Optimally someone committed enough to check and verify all links could make a post with list of websites that a)no longer exist and b) no longer accurate... Looks like @Hoppendi planned something but it's over a year now...
