Congratulations on this amazing milestone!12000 quests completed
Hey Onno,Congratulations on this amazing milestone!
Does your tally include the LoM expansion and the new CoH quests?
I'm asking because I'm still at 11803 quests, as I didn't do those yet.
And since I'm furthermore missing ~300 raid/PvP/challenge quests (and a lot of those early 'missables'),
I guess the total number of quests a single character can possibly complete must be ...
somewhere between 12.500 and 13.000 by now? (Do you perhaps know a specific number?)
My tally includes all of LoM and I should end up around 12050 with CoH.
My spreadsheet now lists 12718 quests of which 158 are obsolete and 307 inaccessible. If I were to knock off my remaining instance quests, I'd end up around 12300. I'd guess the upper limit if you played from the very start being careful to not lock out quests would be around 12400 - 12500.
Hey Onno, nice to hear from you. I've been getting a few of the level cap only T2 challenge quests done lately. And finally got the T3 Red Maid wrapper quest done. How about a final update before the next quest pack drops?
I have now completed 12262 quests.
I have done every single solo quest available to this character, except for the pale horse quest from the Haunted Burrow (which I'll probably never 'find' thanks to LoTRO's wonderful RNG ...) and this one seasonal fishing quest which is virtually impossible to finish.
There are 269 group/raid/PvMP quests still 'open' to me, so I could - in theory - reach 12531 completed quests.
I'm not quite sure how many missable quests I've actually ... well ... missed over the years. Likely more than 100, perhaps around 150. So I figure the upper limit for a very careful day 1 completionist would be almost 12700 quests.
You need to ask SSG to help with that - with no ingame access to quest data, the amount of work to create such a plugin would be insane. It would have to rely on chat messages to track your progress in completing quests. The amount of quests with duplicate names is very high and this would need to be resolved. Heck, there are even quests which share names with deeds and then the "Completed: XZY" chat message can mean either the deed or the quest. And many other reasons why LOTROs limited plugin environment makes building this extra hard. This is so awesome. Congratulations!
I still want a Quest Tracker plugin like the Deed Tracker plugin. Someone, somewhere please. Us completionist needs it! lol
my main has 9307 quests completed, and on every first login on that char i have to wait 68.13 seconds (timed it just for fun). the games framerate more then halfs (i play on 60 usually, god knows the engine tries to keep that...) for that period and feels choppy as it can get.Completing too many quests causes FPS problems, when I log my character that has completed +10k quests, I have to wait a while for it to return to normal.
This is connected. Under the hood, deeds are quests. Imagine an autobestow quest with an objectives of "kill 0/120 sickle-flies" and the quest reward being the whatever the deed reward is, and shown to you in the deed log instead of the quest log. All deeds and quests need to be loaded on login to populate the questlog and the deed log, and the more deeds you have started or completed and the more quests you have in log or completed the longer that takes.my main has 9307 quests completed, and on every first login on that char i have to wait 68.13 seconds (timed it just for fun). the games framerate more then halfs (i play on 60 usually, god knows the engine tries to keep that...) for that period and feels choppy as it can get.
i used to believe this was tied to the deed system and the game has to calculate all the virtues accumulated and probably the storepoints associated with it. never thought its the quests.
for a game this quest-heavy they made sure to have completing that many quests feels like a punishment for that brief duration.
Hi, do you know if this only impacts character entrance or also every further loading screen during a login session?need to be loaded on login to populate the questlog and the deed log, and the more deeds you have started or completed and the more quests you have in log or completed the longer that takes.
well i can say from my example on my mainchar (the only one with whom i religiously do all the deeds and most of the quests. i probably missed a lot of task quests and instance/raid ones), i get the stuttering for a minute on every first login with that char, wheter i logged in with another before or not, its always there. logging out seems to be smooth as with any other char. same as with any other loading screen while staying on that char. the only time the stuttering/framedrops occur is during that initial loading into the gameworld.Hi, do you know if this only impacts character entrance or also every further loading screen during a login session?
Also, do you know if has impact on logout in a way of unloading all deeds/quests?
Does not seem likely. The largest impact on loading screens is still whether you have HDD or SDD for storage, and then if loading an instance if the instance server is busy. If the game woul dneed to load whole quest log and deed log on every loading screen that would be a waste that is relatively easily optimized I feel.Hi, do you know if this only impacts character entrance or also every further loading screen during a login session?
