    The number "183" feels unloved.

    ___________

What would be the job of a theoretical wizard with the name Greensleeves the Smaragdine?
    ___________

Well, he either dabbles in bardic balladry, has a signature line of acid-washed adventuring apparel, or...

    *looks about conspiratorially*

... is the go-to guy for psychedelic party chems.

At first, I thought of the Shire. But he probably wouldn't stand out there, and it's already sort of Gandalf's territory. I think he'd fit in among the Dwarves. His emerald robes would stand out against the grey-blue background of the mines. He'd probably be an expert geologist and gem-inspector. On midnight on Durin's Day, he might leave generous chunks of high-quality coal in the stockings of well-behaved Dwarf girls and boys.

She'd be the wizard looking over and caring for the Dwarven folks, a Maiar incarnation devoted to Mahal (Aulë) who loves mountains and gems so she'd also be a Patron for Tinkers & Miners.

What would be the job of a theoretical wizard with the name _____ the Smaragdine?

The job of Esmerelda the Smaragdine:

As Radagast the Brown cared for the creatures above the earth, Esmerelda's sphere of influence includes those precious gems, metals, etc., that can be found beneath the earth. By extension, she also cares for those, like the dwarves, who seek those treasures for the betterment of all. She especially rewards those who use 'her' treasures for the creation of beauty. She is highly secretive, however, which explains why there are few, if any, extant records of her followers. Just as the earth hides its secrets absolutely, thus does Esmerelda.

    With warmest wishes,
    Khally

    sma·rag·dine (sm?-r?g?d?n?)
    adj.
    1. Of or relating to emeralds.
    2. Having the color of emeralds.
    n.
    also sma·ragd (sm?-r?gd?, sm?r??gd?) Emerald.
[Middle English, from Latin smaragdinus, emerald-green, from Greek smaragdinos, from smaragdos, emerald.]

Hmm..Wizard of the Emeralds, or Wizard of the Emerald City!?
Maybe his name is Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs, also known by his initials, OZPINHEAD, lately of Kansas, or possibly Omaha, Nebraska. I suppose his role would be orchestrating, or at least, giving quests to remove, dispose of, or otherwise rid the world of wicked witches, especially those with an affinity for ruby slippers. For quest rewards, he gives brains, hearts, courage, and sound advice how to get home.....or some facsimile thereof. Also, balloon pilot...as much as one can be piloted, I suppose. He might also be sought out to obtain a unique mount, known as a Horse of a Different Color.
