Guide to the Eyes & Guard Tavern

NOTE: On occasion we may need a particular system to be tested, and the use of a Level-up service may be detrimental to those needs. In situations such as these, an NPC may not be available for use. Please refer to the current Patch Notes and Server Update announcements whenever an NPC is not available.

    Accessing The Tavern

    Race of Man
    , hobbit, Elf and dwarf
These races have access to the tavern as soon as the short tutorial quest specific to their race is completed. If you Skip Tutorial at character creation the doors are available immediately. The door is much easier to locate if you have your floaty names for 'Items' on.
    • In Archet (for hobbits and Race of Man) the tavern door is located across the courtyard from Amdir (Jon Brackenbrook in burned down Archet)
    • In Thorin's Gate (for Elves and dwarves) the tavern door is located around the corner to the west from Frerin's Court

    Beorning, High Elf and Stout-axe
These races have access immediately upon character creation.
    • In Meadhollow (for Beornings) the tavern door is located east of Sterkist, in a hut by the pond
      • This door is currently not working properly. To get to the Tavern either have someone mail you a Map, or complete the Intro quest and travel to Thorin's Gate or Archet

    • In Dagorlad (for High Elves) Kehleyr is located northeast of Harthalín. She will bestow and complete the same Tavern Introduction quest given at the Tavern itself
    • For Stout-axes, once the short intro quest is completed Núluzagar can bestow and complete the same Tavern Introduction quest given at the Tavern itself by Kehleyr.
      • NOTE: Núluzagar's other quest, "Toil in the Dark Tower" will also be offered. This quest cannot be cancelled. Players should not accept TitDT if they intend to Skip Intro

    -------------------------------------------------------------
    Main Tavern

    Kehleyr: E&G Tavern Introduction bestower
NOTE: You cannot have completed the Introduction (and therefore have the Novice Characteristic) if you wish to complete this quest. If you have completed the Introduction (by running the quests or using a Skip Intro item) this quest will not appear for you.

      • Seeker of Deep Places (characteristic)

    Eyes and Guard Tavern FAQ

How do you get to the Eyes and Guard Tavern?
Race of Man, hobbit, Elf and dwarf characters have access to the tavern as soon as the short tutorial quest specific to their race is completed.

Beorning, High Elf and Stout-axe characters have access immediately upon character creation.

    • In Meadhollow (for Beornings) the tavern door is located east of Sterkist, in a hut by the pond

Why do some of the NPCs in the Tavern not work for me?
There are only a few NPC's in the Tavern that should not work for all characters (both copied and created):

    • Kehleyr: If your character completed the Introduction by one of these methods then Kehleyr's Skip Introduction Quest will not be available.
      • Completing it legitmately by running the Introduction quests
      • Purchasing the Veteran Status Item from the LOTRO Store
      • Completing the Skip Introduction (available to older characters some years back)

    • Avon: The Mounted Combat Experience Bestower (only created characters that used Kehleyr's quest)

I've used a level up bestower, but I don't have my Racial Traits, Class Deeds or Virtues. Why?
None of the level up bestowers grant Traits. Speak to Snowlight to obtain your Racial Traits, Temerity for Virtues, and Bobo for Class Traits.

How do I get my Legendary Weapons and Class Items? How do I improve them?

    • Packages purchased from Egg will give you weapons and Class items appropriate for your character.
    • Rock, the Grim in the Tavern Skirmish Camp, will reward you with a plethora of Skirmish Currencies for completing his quests. You can then barter for Third Age Legendary Class Items at any Skirmish Camp for Medallions and Marks. Third Age Weapons can be obtained through various barter NPC's in Middle-earth (such as the 21st Hall). Currencies can be exchanged in Skirmish Camps.
    • Tybur has a variety of First Age LIs and Pre-made Imbued LI packages available for barter
    • All Symbols and other materials required to craft Legendary Items can be found in the various vendor crates in the Tavern Craft Hall. Be sure the check the Special Goods Crates for symbols and fragments.
    • Use Budgeford, Tavern Skirmish Camp NPCs, and the LOTRO Store to improve your Legendary Items.

Where do I get my Guild Recipes?
Guild Recipes can be obtained throughout the various Guild Halls in Middle-earth. Because there are Guild areas like Galtrev that already have all guild services in one place and can be easily mapped to and from (as well as the Stable-masters Panel) we didn't feel the need to put these NPC's in the E&G.

How do I get Turbine Points?
Aubergine in the main room of the E&G will bestow your daily Turbine Point allowance.

Do the points I spend on Bullroarer come out of my Live Turbine Point count?
No. You have your own pool of Turbine Points on the Bullroarer server. Also, any account wide purchases you make on Bullroarer (such as Shared Storage or Quest Packs) will not affect your Live account.

How do I skip the Skirmish Tutorial?
Trennor, the 'Skirmish Advancement' NPC outside the E&G Skirmish Camp, has a quest that will skip the Skirmish Tutorial for you.

I have really uber gear on my Live character, and it can't be copied. How can I get all the same gear on Bullroarer?
Various NPCs around the Tavern have access to varying degrees of armour depending on your character's progress and level:

    • You can get pieces of the Draigoch sets as well as the lesser Isengard Instance gear by getting Marks, Medallions, and Seals from Rock in the E&G Skirmish Camp and going to either Galtrev (Draigoch Set) or the Ox-Clan Camp (Lesser Isengard Sets).
    • Erebor & Orthanc sets can be obtained by first getting the Deeds from JWBarry and then getting the gear in the usual fashion. Rock also has a quest for Hytbolt tokens that will allow you to quickly finish the access quests for that area and then barter for the appropriate gear sets.
    • Materials for all Crafted Items should be available in the various crates located in the Crafting Hall, including symbols for First Age Weapons.
    • Karst has Throne of the Dread Terror Items
    • Moose has Dwarf-hold Instance Gear
    • Vastin has Mordor Test Gear

While we understand the desire to mimic your Live character as much as possible, unless we are actually testing Raids you shouldn't need it. In fact, it is beneficial for us if you test content in a variety of Quest/Crafted/Skirmish equipment.
