EVENT: Shire Search for the Queen of the May

Another year gone and tis time ter start the search once more!

Each year around this time, the call goes out and the Shire decides which of the brave lassies who come forward, will be ter next wearer of the floral crown. From humble housewife ter hard working crafters, the race is open ter all

Now, as the leaves on the trees change every year, tis only fair that ter Queen be renewed every year, otherwise we'd be keeping the same lassies and no giving others the chance.

So... Are ye a lassie of the Shire? Do ye have what it takes ter be Queen of the May? Do ye know of someone who would do the Shire Proud? If so, then don't delay, send yer name to me, Nannie, and ye could be the lucky one!

Over the years we've many a fine queen of the May. Miss Acorne, Miss Amorey and Miss Dassa ter name but a few. Will ye be joining with them?

So, lassies dust off yer dresses and pluck up yer courage - a wee dram may help with that one - Drop me a wee message via the Quick post - oh those laddies dunna like this coming month as they ken they'll have ter earn their ale! - or if ye see's me at the Green Dragon or market, let me know and ye too could be wearing the floral crown come May 4th!

Now ah hope ye lads are no thinking ah've forgotten yet this year! Oh no!

King Simbo has worn the crown well this past year.... when it's no been left in his garden that is, but his time too is coming to an end.

Who will he be passing it too is the question?

The search has begun to find our next Rulers of the May, all are invited ter try, who havena held the title before. Once we have some willing vict.... er candidates, their names will be listed here fer all ter see and then voting will be opened.

Ye have till the 18th April, ter get yer names in, then voting will open for those brave souls.

The event is open to all Hobbits of the Shire and beyond, results ter be announced at the party on May the 4th

Right the time has come to announce the brave lassies who are competing fer the Floral crown this year.

As always ye now gets ter cast yer vote fer who ye wants to wear the Floral Crown. As always, ye gets one vote fer the lass of yer choice and one vote fer the laddie.

All votes need ter be sent ter me (in-Game) Nannie and ah'll tally up the totals.

Now all votes must be with me by the end of Green Dragon on Friday 3rd May, as that's when the voting will close. So make sure to let me know the hobbits of yer fancy

Yon winners will be revealed at the May Queen Crowning ter be held on 4th May, the following day over in Brightdown.

Well, tonight was the night!

We danced and sang, our current Queen Miss Lina had a few words ter say and a surprise fer the former King who nominated her last year.

But when all is said and done, our new Shire May Queen is!

Granmama! Our first Silver Queen and long may she reign... well until next year that is.

Fer the role of her consort/King. None of the lads turned up ter claim the title so our new Queen rules alone.
