Mouse clicking issues.

Just picked up the game this weekend. Having issues mouse clicking things in game. Some times it will take as many as 7 clicks to get something targeted or interact with things.

Happens most often when:

Equipping items from backpack and right clicking them
Double Right clicking enemy to start attacking them
Right Clicking quest items to interact with them

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm using a logitech mx518 lazer mouse.

Re: Mouse clicking issues.

There have been UI issues since the most recent patch involving clicking on what looks like empty space and the UI thinking you're clicking on a vitals bar or something. You might have fellowship or opponent vitals too near the bags/enemy you're clicking on and that could be messing it up.

Or it could be another unrelated issue -- not really sure

Re: Mouse clicking issues.

This is still a problem I would love to know if anyone else is having/found a solution for yet.

The game will work perfectly then, with no changes to the system, the clicking on objects in game ceases to register properly. Talking with NPCs, looting corpses, checking mail, it's all affected requiring 10+ clicks before it registers. It occurs with both right and left clicks but seems to happen with world objects more than the UI.

This has accrued on two different computers. It happens under Vista and Windows 7. I have tried reinstalling the game, different video drivers, reinstalling mouse drivers and even a different mouse. Reinstalling the game fixed the problem for about a week and then it happened again.

All other applications and games work fine so I'm pretty sure it's LOTRO related. If anybody has any ideas on this please let me know because it's driving me away from an otherwise awesome game.

Thanks

Re: Mouse clicking issues.

Got a solution from Turbine that worked! Give this a shot.

Open the Mouse properties screen (blue Windows logo button > Control Panel > Mouse) and in there under the Buttons section make sure that the Doubleclick speed slider is not all the way to the right (fast, default is usually about the middle of the slider position). Also under the Pointer Options tab make sure that "Enhance Pointer Precision" is not enabled.
