Re: New Crit Item/Profession Reference

You can also see the recipes that require these items at http://www.lotroalliance.com/recipes.php.

Clicking the vocation brings up the tiers, clicking the tier brings up the recipe types. This is where the crit items are shown. All the recipes under the same type require the same crit item.

One more click brings up the recipes. If you click a recipe you can see the ingredients needed to craft.

Mousing over the icons show you the tooltip - just like in-game!

Re: New Crit Item/Profession Reference

The fun part is going to be figuring out what other critters are going to drop the item. ie. the 'new' Tough Leg was 'Extremely Sharp Cave Claw Talon. I would assume those cave claw guys will drop the new leg. But unlike some new items that have a couple of old barter items, the barter guy in Bree only has the one entry for the tough leg.

Yay! Thanks for this!
Now, has anyone found out what are Dusty Egg Sacs for? They are turned in for Blackened Spiders Eyes and which were used in Journeyman Scholar's potions. I can't find any use for those now.

Re: New Crit Item/Profession Reference

Great Post! Thank you so much for the info!

To get the new crit items, we have to turn in the old crit items to a barter NPC. After the latest update, hunting still has us picking up the old crit items from creature kills, so it looks like it will be necessary to keep stack space for both all the old crit items and the new ones.

The only barter NPC for the exchange of old for new crit items that I am aware of is in the Crafting Hall at Bree, which means that traveling all the way back to Bree will be required every time you want to get a new crit item. Hopefully there are other places you can do this, but I haven't found one yet. Does anyone know of any other place with this type of barter NPC?

The old item tooltip description only has Taddyn in Bree listed as a place to turn in the items. That is the only place we can go at this time...

Unhappy Re: New Crit Item/Profession Reference

It looks like woodworkers still have to hit up Garth Agarwen for crit items. I thought the crit items were going to be the same for every craft (for example, all tier 3 recipes would use a Scarred Ear, or something). This doesn't save bag space or time for woodworkers - it's the same items with different names.
