The story really is a great part of this game. I never felt the same sense of narrative with the other two big fantasy MMO's I played - good to see it recognised as a strength of the game.

Thanks again for this!

Re: Love the game but..

Glad our ranting and raving got some attention

Orion I've said this so many times to my kin, you are, by far, my favorite dev

Every time I hear that you're working on something I jump for joy. To know that it's you who is working on the solution to this problem just makes me all that more confident this will be a good solution.

Thank you for listening to us.

Now when will I be able to solo Vol.2 :P

OH and you said in the blog that it's starting with book 2 but it wasn't really clear about the other books. Will those have this system in them with the SoM release or are we gonna have to wait on that I've been playing this game for 2 years next month (happy anniversary to me!!) and have yet to finish vol.1 on any of my characters. The thought of having to wait for yet another update after SoM sucks, but I will of course wait if I have to :P

Vol. I Books 1 and 2 are both solo friendly with the release of SoM. I will be working on the other Volume I Books moving forward.

does making them solo friendly mean the quests are changed to be done solo or are instances being turned into skirmishes? latter option is better IMO.

Wow, this is so very nice to hear. Every time I think LotRO can't get any better it does. Thank you so much for being a company that is listening to it's community. Something severely lacking in most other games.

Kudos to Orion, and thanks!!!!

Thanks for the response Orion, I figured it out from your other thread that has just turned into an even bigger drawn out argument then this one.

Good to see at least there is still rational conversation going on in this one.

I hope you can get the rest of vol.1 done soon. I'm so looking forward to when I finally get to be apart of the story instead of just hearing about it

As for all those people who think you're ruining there game with all these 'ez-mode' changes. They're just drama queens. You're doing an awesome job, and everyone I talk to in-game (including people that group on a regular basis) love the work you're doing.

Keep it up, you deserve one FAT Christmas bonus this year

The Skirmish system, while a fun and great idea, has NOTHING to do with the original posters discussion; namely that many of the Epic/Volume/Chapter Book instances force you into groups to complete them, which makes it impossible to complete them for many.

This game will always have mediocre subscription numbers as long as they refuse to add solo options to the Fellowship only Book-quest instances.

Fantastic!

I didn't even know this was in the works. Mark my words, your sub numbers will quadruple with the main book instances becoming solo. The biggest attraction to this game for Tolkien fans is the story, NOT being forced into a group. (Which in my mind has about as much in common with "socialising" as throwing rocks at a passing car could be considered baseball.)

Off to rebusubscribe my account based on this info.

Re: Love the game but..

This is so awesome, thank you so much Orion.

This is a great idea, and i am so glad you guys are implementing this.

The epic storyline is the best part of lotro, and not being able to do it for whatever reasons is painful.

Oooo. In before the lock.

Isn't it against the forum ToS to re-post a PM you received from another user?

P.S. Once those pics are on the internet you can NEVER get them back. j/k

Being a solo'er and all, I hate to even think what he was doing with those pics.
