Re: Tell The Community Team - June 5, 2009 Edition

Favorite zone? Evendim. Annuminas has always been my favorite level 50 area, and I just love the history there. It gives me a real feeling of majestic might, and makes me want to see Gondor all the more. Least favorite? I can't pick one. I like at least part of every zone a good deal.

Which system would I revamp? Probably the LI system.

I would like to see more events that reward emotes, like the dances and the hedge maze (/fishslap).

Re: Tell The Community Team - June 5, 2009 Edition

1) Most favorite: Evendim. I love solo'ing there in the 30's range, I love the Tomb of Elendil questline, and I love the three Annuminas instances. I can't wait for the exploit problems to be fixed with Book 8.
Least favorite: Trollshaws. Too many fellowship quests, too much running back and forth, too wide a level range in too small an area.

2) Loot rolling. Perhaps give more options like delaying rolls until combat is over, or have class specific items only show up for that class (or if none, for everyone).

3) More chicken play, especially in the Ettenmoors. Perhaps give players other session play options, like becoming a Morningthaw Warden in the moors, giving low-level players a chance to see what PvP is like without having to go to Creep-side.

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?
I find the Shire to be the most enjoyable. It just feels... good to be there. I enjoy the Lone Lands alot too. Specially the area around the Forsaken Inn. I love how I can kill and loot a boar and bam, 5 quests updated.
Least enjoyable? Huge performance hit in Moria, so I'll go with that one.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?
Would Crafting count?

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?
Hobnanigans!

I probably enjoyed Evendim the most -- despite the swimming it had fun quests and good variety. My least favorite has been Angmar -- primarily because it's just not pretty to look at. But that's consistent with the lore so don't change it!

Housing, without a doubt. The current implementation is woefully lacking and needs to be revamped.

Group games -- non-combat activities that fellowships and raids could engage in competitively in the festival and/or housing areas. Some sort of team sports like dodgeball or relay races would be really cool.

Forochel is the best, with Lorien a close second. The worst is a tossup between three zones: Lone Lands, Evendim, and Trollshaws.

Forochel is awesome because there are tons of quests, the environment is absolutely outstanding, and there are penalties and benefits that specifically relate to the environment (yay cold damage).

Lorien is beautiful and more or less peaceful. I actually wish I got less wild animal aggro. I love doing quests that involve no fighting...

Lone Lands is horrible because of the transition between Bree and the Lone Lands (it's so sharp) and because you're forced to go there. Additionally, it's a huge, expansive area that requires a person to run.. on foot... across all of it.

Evendim is horrible because of the swimming and because you've *just* gotten your horse at that time. "Congratulations, here's your horse. Now you can't use it!" It's also horrible because a huge number of the quests are gated behind a very painful quest that SHOULD be small fellowship, but isn't (the gauradan quest).

Trollshaws are horrible because there aren't any quests anywhere. That's all there is to it. Huge, phenomenal, cosmic space, itty bitty # of quests.

erm... there really aren't a lot of options here, are there? I suppose Legendary Items, although I hear that's in the works. I reserve the right to change my answer if someone else brings up something I didn't think of as a system, though.

I don't really participate in the fluff.. I'd prefer you focus on non-fluff content.

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

Eregion is my favorite. It gives excellent experience, has plenty of quests, and interesting story-lines. The Flaming Depths is the worst zone IMO.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

The LI system.

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

Chicken play. Emotes are nice, but they don't compare with being a chicken.

Editted to add: or events like the ones on Bullroarer - the lag.
No personal description.

Re: Tell The Community Team - June 5, 2009 Edition

Answer 1)
most: Helegrod. Its a great lay out. You can choose which boss to do when. I love that there is/was a nice little test to even get in the door. We can bring as many or as few kinmates as we want.

least: tie between Evendim and Fochochel
Evendim is lots of frustration. (annuminas was awesome though)
Fochochel is barren waste land that requires no grouping at any point and there is hardly anyone there.

Answer 2)
The entire LI system. Its AWFUL. Its a huge fail. Get rid of it. Or, if you dont want that, make the legacies easier to get good ones, and make it take longer to level. If I KNOW that the legacies on a first age will be t5/t6, and I know that I will be getting some good ones, then I dont give a hoot how long it takes to level it. The longer the better. ITS LEGENDARY.

Answer 3)
I love tag. The horse races were good. Anything that involves other people is usually fun. The freeze tag arena is great. Its small and dated now. Its time for a new freeze tag arena with cool options.

I love fishing. But once you max it, there is no point to it. Please make it useful. I like to fish. Maybe I could fish up a raid boss? yeah lol.

Re: Tell The Community Team - June 5, 2009 Edition

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

For feel I'd have to agree with the Shire. A rich environment compared to the plainness of zones like LL and North Downs. The least would definitely have to be Foundations of Stone. Elite trolls make the place a nightmare to pass through in cloth even if you know your way around.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

To use as wide a brush as possible, the UI. It's the part of the game that is used the most. I'd like to see improvements in the LFF interface, inventory management, vendor interface, further improvements in the quest log, etc.

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

It would be nice to give crafters something to do. How about a pie-baking contest or something along those lines?

Re: Tell The Community Team - June 5, 2009 Edition

Favorite Zone, probably have to say North Downs.

Revamp any system.. going to have to say the LI system. Make it less grind oriented and lottery based.

Fluff? Events like the Amathrial controlled by a GM type stuff. Maybe a monthly incursion on one of the so called far flung outposts (I'm a Warden.. that means Ost Guruth, Rivendell, Tinnindur, Estilden, and 21st Hall.)

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?
I just love Angmar, lots and lots of quest hubs, places to discover and I do enjoy the bleakness of it. Moria has to be second for the same reasons

I like most of the lone lands, but a lot of the quests around Ost Guruth are somewhat derivative. I like the ones at the Forsaken Inn at first but some of the later ones were lacking. The whole kill x mobs thing is a bit much there, and I hated wandering around looking for lynxes.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Crafting LI specifically. Perhaps add a way for crafters to enhance existing armor (ie add stats to Rad Gear.)

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

Instanced horse racing. Loved the hedge maze, I think it can be adapted to have a horse obstacle course.

Most: Shire. Zone is beautiful and quests are fun (for the most part)

Least: Lonelands & Northdowns tie. Content is often spread out and you do a LOT of running in these zones. Some of the quest areas that should have been the most fun, turn into an area to be dreaded and avoided (Fornost & Agamaur)

I'd be lying if I didn't say number one "to me" would be Housing.
Realistically, I would say the legendary weapons system or crafting. Perhaps they tie together in that crafting is pointless once we went to radiance armor and legendary weapons. Kudos to you for seeing this and making comments recently that it'll be addressed at least somewhat.

I'd love to see chickenball come back. I only got to play 1 time for like 1 minute before the game bugged out.

I've also posted this a few times....
Competitive horse races year around. Races could be anything from the simple track ones we have now, or distance ones from one city to another. The winner gets a barter token that can be turned in for horse improvements up to but not limited to horse buffs (speed buffs, knock off buffs ie how many hits it takes to knock you off) and cosmetic options like horse body styles, colors, bits, blankets...etc...

Other ideas:
in-game games like chess. Maybe an in-game representation of the dice game rolled out back when moria first came out. That was fun.

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

Most: Evendim/Forochel Just very well done and love the added lore. Least: Far Chetwood, not a zone per say, but an area that has no real stuff going on, but needs more stuff going on!

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Crafting

Question 3

Question 1
Which zone do you enjoy the most? Which do you enjoy the least? Why?

AHHH! why must we have ONE favorite? fine! the shire (and eregion...)
why? the smooth questing and over b-e-a-u-teefulness of the region(s)

I dont really like the trollshaws however...too many elites and waaaaay too much travelling back and forth.

Questsion 2
If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh...
probably the LI system and specifically the overal randomness of the legacies, but PvP is a close 2nd...having creeps lvl in addition to their ranking.

Question 3
What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

Treasure Hunts! Organized hide and go seek! oh! and Bonfires with story tellers that let you into a session play of some story of long ago...
And of course new crazy titles and emotes...I still use "fool"

I enjoyed Eregion and Forochel best -- gorgeous landscapes, plenty to explore, variety of quest types, tons of quests...

Really disliked Angmar -- dark, dreary, ugly. Lone Lands would be a close second. Can't begin to describe how happy I was to get out of those places.

If you could choose one game system to revamp, what system would you choose?

Legendary Items with Crafting a very close second.

What sort of "Fluff" activities(e.g. Tag, festival dances, etc) would you be interested in?

More hobbies. Add some depth to fishing (no pun intended...)
