Rain's Decorating Guide
I've typed up a list of all the purchasable, craftable, festival, reputation, and taxidermy items and posted it here.
I've also added it to one of the worksheet tabs on my Character Reference Sheet which can be found at the top of the right column of this page if you would like to have this information as an Excel spreadsheet..
Pictures of the items are available here. All of the pictures are up now!
I would like to publish (on the floorplans page) a list of how many of each kind of hook are in each floorplan. If you know that information for your housing type, please post it below.
I welcome all suggestions on format, content, and typos
. Please let me know if this is worth the time I'm putting into it.
I did some experimenting, and 300x300 seems to be about the ideal size, although it still makes the pages a bit clunky. I'm sorry for the darkness of some of the shots, but some items could only be found in Dwarf country
.
I'm concerned that I wouldn't have the bandwidth to host MP3's of the house music. Any suggestions in that regard?
I'm also attempting to make it a more comprehensive guide to housing as a whole.

Much thanks to:
Adora - Evolution of Light - Windfola
Allyssa - Evolution of Light - Windfola
Athene - Council of the Four - Windfola
Gertrude Galbasi - Integrity - Windfola
Hakiem - Windfola
Justice - Evolution of Light - Windfola
Kasen - Evolution of Light - Windfola
Mynilia Mimiraelye - Flames of Eternal - Windfola
Slartiblartfastina - Windfola
Venusada - PrimaGamesForums for help on the rep items.

I couldn't have done it without their help. In case you haven't noticed the pattern, Evolution of Light in particular deserves a special word of thanks. They went out of their way to help me find the items I needed. - RainLast edited by Rainwhisper; Nov 24 2007 at 03:19 PM.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Items I still need to screenshot. If you have extras, feel free to mail them. If you have one placed on Windfola or Roheryn, please post the address and neighborhood here. I'll update this list as I get new shots.
Items Needed: None (until Book 12 comes out).

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Nice list, very usefull.
However it needs to include a list of those items/recipes that can only be gotten thru the various reputation vendors.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Don't request images at 300 x 300, Cut them down yourself.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
I'm certainly happy to crop them as well, it's just faster if they're already 300x300.
I had COMPLETELY forgotten about the reputation vendors...adding that to the list.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
First of all, thanks for list, very handy!
A suggestion if you need it,
, I'm interested in the trophies that can go on walls. I'm sure I can figure it out for myself, might be a good addition to your list though?
(ADDED IN EDIT) After reading the OP closer I noticed you already had trophies in mind... Sorry, and thanks again.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
I bought a whole lot of stuff for my house on Rohyren (where, thanks to Fastus the pig, money is no object). I've got screenies of most of the non-rep. vendor and crafted items from there. Plus I've got pics of some of the rep. items due to kinfolk getting them for our house. If I can find the time, I'll see about getting at least some of them cropped, hosted and linked. Might be a couple of weeks, though. RL intrudes. /sigh

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
May I suggest including a list of the festival items? E.g. scarecrow, sundial, etc.

Bah! There are festival items??? Going to check that out now!
Pictures are up for about 30 or so items. Putting them up as I get them, but I'm officially broke

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
I've been looking high and low for a housing guide with pictures. Thanks for your hard work on this. Looking forward to your additions. I'll try to post some pics as I get them, but you already have most of the items I own.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Although your guide is not yet completed, I nominate it for stickitude!
Please sticky!
Thanks Rain, this is exactly what I have been looking for. I will take some screenies of things that I have and post here for you to use.
So completely appreciated. I really like the way you have everything organized.
When this is completed it will be the ultimate housing guide. Thanks!

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Another 30 images are up.
All Fall Festival and Taxidermy items added to the item list and the spreadsheet.
Now all I need is a list of all the Reputation items. I've got screenshots of about 10 of them, but I don't know the vendor. If anyone is feeling industrious, I would be thrilled to get a list - from any of the four vendors, that gives all of the data that I've got listed on the item list above. Unfortunately, as a lowly 28, I don't have access to them.
-Rain
P.S. Thanks for all the positive feedback...it keeps me motivated.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
OK, I think every housing item in the game (minus some descriptions) is up there now, so I'm focusing on getting screenshots (and replacing some of the darker ones). I just lot 20 images accidentally, so I guess I'll be heading back to some of your neighborhoods
.
Anyone who wants to speed up the process and has silver to burn, feel free to look me up on Windfola.

Another 30 images posted or updated.
I've still got several that are too dark, but I could only find them in dark, dwarven houses or at night

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Another 60 images updated or posted including:
- All Floor Colors (using the Hardwood Flooring as a neutral background)
- All Wall Colors (using Woodpanel Plaster as a neutral background)
- All Floor Surfaces
- All Wall Surfaces
The above wouldn't have been possible without a generous donation from Hakiem and another from Gertrude, both of Windfola.
I think I may be at close to the 75% point on images. Looking forward to having it complete. All donations and suggestions are welcome, but please make sure that your house really has something I haven't screenshot before you post the location.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Please note that the third post now has a list of everything I still need. Some of these are rep items that I couldn't get even if I were rolling in gold, so I'll need help tracking down where they might be. Please note that Dwarven statues placed in Dwarven yards don't help much since the lighting is so dim.
Thanks everyone for their support on this project.

Myn, I've been meaning to get back to your kin hall. I lost all the shots I took of your house with an accidental push of the "Delete" key. Thanks for reminding me.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
lol sorry i kept missing you earlier... BG got a bit messy :P but our kinhall is still open to you if you need more pix... and if we can catch each other when i'm not spamming heals in an instance... i'd be more than happy to come move some furniture around so you can get better shots

i had more stuff but i just sold them yesterday to make room in the kinhall storage... if there's anything you really want, i'll stop by the NPCs or AH and grab them before you come over for a nice frosty ale
ale + camera = hmm.... don't tell my hubby! lol j/k

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
I've just put another 20 pictures up...with only 17 items left to go (3 of which I simply forgot to buy off the housing vendors). That leaves 14 rep items and the site is done (except maybe for MP3's of the housing music, but I don't want to host those locally).
Everyone's help with this project is much-appreciated.

Down to 5 items now, but I'm cheating a bit on the chandeliers. I can't find any houses where they look good enough for a decent screenshot.

Re: Rain's Decorating Guide
Very nice Rain. One small error I noticed was one of your pic of the Bentwood Scholar's bookshelf was actually of the other one. Other then that very nice, I particularly like the wall/floor stuffs.
