I'll update this as more information comes in or I find out more of it:
What are Reputation Recipes?
Each of the new Reputation Factions has a reputation item that is player craftable. Most of the Vocations get one tier 4, one tier 5 and one Rare Tier 5 recipe ( Not all at once in most cases ). These recipes, just like your crafting quest recipes, drop as scrolls in your inventory. You learn them, and then you are able to create reputation items that you can turn in for reputation with that faction. ( For instance the Elves of Rivendell has Scholars who make Scholar's Writs as their first reputation craft item ).
Each of the non rare recipes require 5 items to be crafted for one single completion. So using the above example, we would need 5 Scholar's Writs to complete the quest. Most of the ones I have seen give you 700 Reputation for the first time you complete it and then 300 for every time after that.
The Rare Recipes aren't Rare as in you can only get them from a drop off a mob or they are single use rare... it just means they use an infrequently dropped item ( Blackberry Honey, Moonstones, Etc. ) in the recipe.
NOTE: In order to be able to get the Recipes ( and the quests for the items produced ) you must first be Proficient in Artisan ( for the Tier 4 ) or Master ( for the Tier 5 ) already. Some of the recipes will also require a certain Reputation Rank in order to obtain those quests / recipes also.
NOTE: At acquaintance you are able to view ALL items that will be available to you in each location. Items you cannot get yet will be grayed out. Prices do not drop as you gain rep and no new items appear as you gain rep.
NOTE: At Acquaintance you will also receive a 20% discount on Repairs, a great reason to have at least that Rank with any or all Factions.

Most strange. The Scholar's Writ that I made for turn in just used 1 Relic of Lothlorian and 1 Fragment of Dunedain Script. I did not have any Quill and Ink, and it didn't ask for any...
Is the reputation you get from crafting seperate from the instances, etc or does it accomplish the same goal? For example, if you get rep of xxx, can you buy the recipes or do you have to craft to get the rep to get offered the recipes?
I found the rangers sash recipe in my bag some time after, no clue if it dropped or was given when i got the quest.
No message saying i got it with the quest, and i did look in my bag and didnt find it.
Also, it dosnt tell you how many you need to make, and when you make one it dosnt say 1/5, not until you have made how many you need does the completed sign appear next to the quest.
I received the Scholar Writ recipe when I took the quest inside the last house. The quest was blue for my lvl 42 scholar and earned me about 4k xp the first time I turned in 5 writs. I turned in 3 more sets of 5 and gained 300 rep points for those turn-ins (no xp gain after the first turn in). I have yet to figure out where or how to start the next parts of the scholar items though. Also the scholar writ recipe is definitely in my T4 category. Again, I don't even know where to go for the next two, so I can't confirm or deny the ingredients or Tier levels of the recipes. Anyone else that has experience with it?
Some professions, like jeweller, give you 2 recipes right off the bat, while others only give you one. You will get the next recipe when you reach the next reputation level, unfortunately.

I haven't seen the other recipes yet but its possible they become available once you reach higher reputation.
Tier 4 weponsmith ceremonial dagger belongs to Rangers of Estelden/Wardens of Annuminas reputation. The recipe is obtained by accepting the quest given by a ranger on the steps of the large white building on the ranger island in Evendim.

All reputation applies to that faction regardless of the source. If you have 1000 Men of Bree Reputation and make 60 wooden figurines ( 12 turn ins ) you will then have 4600 Reputation with Men of Bree.
( Wooden Figurine = 500 Reputation per turn-in and one turn in takes five ( 5 ) Figurines ).
Then if you go into the Barrows Instance and get 60 Barrows Treasure ( 6 turn-ins ) you will then have 6400 Reputation
( 6 turn-ins at 300 Reputation each = 1800 Reputtion plus your previous 4600 )
Some areas like Carne Dum give you reputation awards of 6-10 per kill, the Angmarim give faction with Council of the North.
Metalsmith gives reputation for the Council of the North.
The tier 4 recipe Crests of Vigilance require 2 Dwarf-Steel Ingots and 2 Westernesse Steel Ingots. 5 Crests per quest for 700 initial reputation then 300 thereafter.

is the dwarf-jewel quest repeatable? I did the intro part, and then the next... and never got it again... ive done the dwarf-ring twice and the crests twice... hoping that maybe the jewel quest would pop up after... still nothing.

Devs had to bug the jewel to be not repeatable, pending a Fix. I think it's because it was giving XP after the first turn in.
Anyone figure out the Forestry and Prospecting yet? Is it purchased, is there a Lone-Lands Faction I'm missing?
The Lorebook lists the Ancient Nickel Ingot as a component of the tier 5 rare weaponsmithing (Warden's Sceptre) and metalsmithing (Icon of Heroes) recipes.
Don't know how they plan on providing the recipe though. The other recipes and their produce are all Bind on Acquire though. Makes me wonder if they plan on targeting the forestry and prospecting to those who need it specifically too.

Both "A Study of the Unknown" and "Of Mysteries Most Profound" are given to the scholar upon completing Neutral standing with the elves.
Are the "Ranger Cloak" and "Ranger Sash" wearable items and, if so, what do they look like?
I was really disappointed to find that the 'reward' cloak (while I'm not complaining about the stats) is the generic two-tone grey and red. I'd love for it to be a bit more, well, "Rangery" (no, that's not a word.. *grins*). Maybe mottled olive/grey/brown type thing.
I know that second part should be posted under "suggestions", but I wanted to find out about the crafted one first.
