Re: What are you listening to?
Well, I seem to be on the verge of growing up, but I'm not quite there yet...*sighs* some day I suppose it will happen for me...
Lets see what I'm listening too...
Lacuna Coil...<3!!!!
Other stuff I'm likely to listen to today...
Evanescence, Atreyu, Ra, Staind, Theory of a Deadman...Oh I'm currently loving the new stuff from My Chemical Romance, Teenagers being my fav I think off that album!!! Also currently loving the new song from the used (soooooooo not a used fan, but this one song is hot) called The Bird and the Worm...Sixpence None the richer is good, Flyleaf is good, Tool's new stuff, especially Jambi and The Pot!!!1111!!! Amazing...
Love Sara Mclachlan...favorite song would be Possession...
Ooo did I mention Kelly Clarkson? <3 <3 !!!!! I was listening to her new album yesterday...she's awsome...
I could literally go on all day...

Re: What are you listening to?
STB was one of my favorite bands, but I remember even other punks used to get embarrassed about the name and stick to the initials. I also liked the Inserts, and any other band with Billy Problem fronting.
Club Foot! The Best Club In Austin Named After A Physical Deformity! (moderators, that was their real radio commercial, so yeah tasteless, but with prior art :P)

Re: What are you listening to?
I love their song from the Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines soundtrack; Swamped. Actually is my favourite Monster play song.
I haven't really heard any of their other songs besides a couple okay ones from last.fm though.
My tastes generally go toward pop with a bunch of other stuff thrown in, but I got tired of answering these types of threads and yet never answering them to my satisfaction, so I created a last.fm page (http://www.last.fm/user/kethina) recently and am working on setting it up. *nod*
I'll throw some of the interesting sounding artists from here onto their custom radio stations and see what songs come up eventually.
Kethina, Woman Burglar (80|R5) | Shiara, Elf Minstrel (85|R9) | Alynne, Hobbit Huntress (67|R4) | Kylanna, Woman Loremistress (85|R4)
Defenders of the Mithril Halls (Landroval)
Landy: Avarice (R5 Warg), Squeak (R4 Defiler); Brandy: Amberjack (R4 Warg)

Re: What are you listening to?
Swamped is a really good song by Lacuna Coil. The first one I ever heard from them was Heavens a Lie off of the album Comalies...everything on Comalies is amazing...
Here is a link to a few of their videos found on Launch...Swamped's video is on there...Their Lead singer, Cristina Scabbia is just...wow...

They are definately one of my favorite bands

Re: What are you listening to?
Today, I get to leave my wonderfully somewhat "climate controlled" lab (yes, here we test global warming in-extremis [refractory lab with several hi-temp kilns]) and do some QA work for a fellow who's taken a "Sick Day" (the golf tourney for the factory is tomorrow... hmmmmm... practicing I bet!).
So far today then, I have heard:
Highway to Hell - ACDC
Tomorrow Wendy - Concrete Blonde
She's a Beauty - The Tubes
"I am the makings of a bomb, bang bang.." - don't know who it is yet, but I like it.
Let's go crazy - Prince
Play the Game - Queen
Heavy Fuel - Dire Straits
Muscle of Love - Alice Cooper
Black Dog - Led Zep
Mummer's Dance - Loreena McKennit
Lighning Crashes - Live
Can't Turn Back - Red Rider
I'm so proud of this dayshift crew. Not a single country or rap station on, and most of them have the Classic Rock station blasting the management back into their a/c comfort "chicken coop watch towers".
I have put large post-it notes on the bottom of the staircase leading up to the Plant Manager's office, it reads "Minas Morgul". Now if I could get a great big eye of Sauron poster, I'd put it right under his window.
Several years back, my "Big Brother is Watching You!" 1984 poster got me a tongue-lashing, but it was so very funny and true.
So glad it's Friday. So glad it's coffee time on Friday.

Re: What are you listening to?
Everyone needs to listen to Nightfall in Middle-Earth by Blind Guardian, at least once.
I especially like Time Stands Still (at the Iron Hill), it recounts Fingolfin's battle against Morgoth."Pipeweed in my pouch, Sun in the Sky, and a Song in my heart."

Re: What are you listening to?
From the FAQ on their site:
Basically you run an small app that reports what you're listening to, it keeps track of your artists and styles and shows you who else is listening to similar music as you, you can then listen to stations made up of their tastes to discover new bands. You can also listen to streaming music based on "tags". You can also have groups, if the group has enough people it generates charts for that group, as well as the group radio which is made up of the tastes of the aggregate members.Last.fm is a service that keeps track of what music you listen to, and then produces a large number of features personalised to you.
You can use Last.fm to listen to music, find out about artists you may like, other people with similar music taste, gigs in your local area, charts and quilts for your personal site, as well as much more."Pipeweed in my pouch, Sun in the Sky, and a Song in my heart."

All of that on vinyl, by the way. I know the rest of the world is happy with their mp3's but I prefer the superior sound quality of a vinyl LP when I am home. My husband loves his record collection and since he won't play the game he will often spin records while I'm playing the game. I love it cause it's like having my own personal DJ.
