Sometimes red, sometimes clear
But I am not blood, nor am I mere
I have a nose but cannot smell
Arguments I both start and quell
I breathe though I am not alive
Under your feet I often hide

Probably too easy. Hard to tell when you're writing it. If it is, excuse me, as this is my first attempt.

You'd be surprised how much fun it is trying to write a riddle. Just give it a shot! I've had a few on here - the only ones I've ever done - and while I've never had anyone guess wrong, half the fun is in the writing.

I love riddles, even though I'm not very good at guessing them. Perhaps I need to do more thinking and less day-dreaming hehe.

Earendel's silmaril again? (If it is, you guys are doing too many Earendel's silmaril riddles)

Nevermind, disregard that. I just looked up and saw that someone said ashes. That seems more reasonable. I'm just in a LotR mindset, and if you think about it from a LotR perspective, Earendel's silmaril kind of makes sense.

Not what I was referring to, but it does fit perfectly lol.

I was thinking of buttons (specifically the throat button of a cloak), but I think I have to give it to you with false teeth. This was my first attempt at writing a riddle, and I wasn't specific enough.

Funny - I always worry that mine are too vague (and my only riddles all appear in this thread), and then everyone gets them on the first shot. Here's mine:

Side note:
I am not a Tolkien fan, nor know much about ME, so I couldn't really do anything 'lore' specific. So I started thinking about the game, and my favorite parts of the game... specific items, events, concepts... and this riddle came to me. As some people have stated previously, many apologies if this is overly simple, or overly vague... once you start thinking about a riddle and then creating one, it's hard to judge it effectively.

Nope not a Guardian, but good guess. However, you forgot, a guardian also has the defences of evade, parry, and block!
