Let us try to compile a list of Quests and Locations for quests that a burg should not skip and level range of item/quest.
And by that I mean for items that we might really want to use.
Notes:
Level is recomended level, MOST quests can be taken a few levels earlier.
We have not listed class quests or epic quest, as a general rule the items from thoese quests are wanted by all.
I'll copy and past into this, credit can be given by looking bellow on who posts it.
- Not far inside the Trollshaws are boars level 33-34, and they have a chance to drop a perfect boar tusk. You right-click on the item in your inventory to start a quest that takes you to rivendell for a very nice dagger.
L30 minimum - Riddle Contest
- At level 30, you can talk to Bilbo in Rivendell who is with an elf and they have some interesting quests for you to follow - a riddle contest. The reward for the first two quests/riddles solved are a pair of medium armor gloves with +22 agility
- The follow-up to said quest is called, I think, Arwen's Legacy. Another riddle of sorts, you must - ultimately - retrieve a jewel from a hidden cave (exit Rivendell to the Trollshaws, hug the left mountainside) and the reward is ANOTHER even BETTER dagger.
---
That's all I got. I didn't want to post everything on the riddle contest quest, there's a thread dedicated to it if someone wants to link to it, or you can look it up.
L40 Quest (A 35 can get the quest, not sure about lower.) From the Earthkin Camp in South Angmar. Rewards 'Sharp Metal' a better dps dagger than the Rivendell ones (although common damage instead of fire) with much better combat stats. Requires killing of L40-41 spiders also around southern Angmar.
Just a note on how you're organizing them: The riddle contest first part might be best in the Armour section, since the immediate reward for that is the +22 agi gloves.
It's the second part that gives the dagger. (Dannellas? I think that's what it's called, off-hand)
Also... I logged in, and pulled up my quest list.
[33] A Shattered Past (From Aric the Stone Speaker)
- Collect 15 wight-swords.
- Reward: Bregechor (Bracelet) +9 agility, +0.7 Power regen in combat
[31] Grimbark's Reclamation (Goldberry in Old Forest)
- Collect Grimbark's Seeds (He's in Agamuar in Lone Lands)
- Reward: Celegdram (1h mace) +8 Might, +8 agility, 14.9 DPS, 41 max damage)
- There are two other rewards, a cloak with might, and a ring with poison resist, neither of which are really useful for a burglar, so I wouldn't mention 'em. By the time you can do this quest, you can do the level 30 burglar quest and get a better cloak.
[?] Book 3, Chapter III: A call to... {Men/Dwarves/Elves]
- When you get to this step, you choose one of three quests (You do each of them, but one at a time) to help men, dwarves, and elves. The quest to help Men has a quest reward sword that isn't too shabby. The dwarven rewards are not usable, and I do not know the elf ones.
- Reward: Defender of Tesstlebridge (1h Mace) - Can't remember stats Less DPS then the weapons I mentioned in previous quests, but decent top-end damage, I believe.
That's all I have in my quest log, i'll add more as I get it. Everything else I have is part of a quest chain i'm only partly in.
I'll hold off posting some until we have beter info.
But thanks for the start!
I also think if we have 2 quests of a similar level and one gives a better item we should only post the one. To keep down the clutter. Let me know if someone thinks different!
If anyone wants to do a better job formatting please feel free to paste bellow and I can cut and paste into orginal topic.
I'll keep it organized by level, and as we get more organize it even better.
Problem with that is, what's better for one is not necessarily better for another. I doubt that there are many quests with almost identical stat types just higher on one than the other, so whether one is better or not will also depend on what gaps need filling for each individual burglars suit.
For instance, you cannot compare a mace that is 15.0dps/ 30-42 / 15 agi, with one that is 15.0dps/ 30-42, 8 agi, 8 might.
Whether mace 1 or 2 is better is, as it stands, a matter of great debate!!!!
So let us say if it is a clear cut better item. Like if one quest gace AGI 18 AC 60 gloves and another gave AGI 10 and AC 55 and both are the same level...
If I miss something though, because it does happen, just poke me with a stick and point me to it.
Someone was saying there was a quest out of Esteldin that gave a black +stealth cloak. I'd love some more info on that. I've done most of the quests out of there and haven't seen it as a reward.

I don't recall the name of the quest, but there is indeed a +1 stealth cloak (with 50ish armor) available from a quest line from the Giant-kin camp on the otherside of the mountain range from Esteldin. I can't remember the kill tasks up to the last step, but the last one is direwargs.
I completed it last night on my champion.
It's not as good a cloak as the lvl 30 quest, but if you didn't choose that cloak, well this is the first I've seen past it then
I didn't choose it as a reward, but I'm curious about the graphic for it... could be really good.

Thanks! I just found that camp last night, so I haven't done any quests out of it. Either the level 30 cloak or the Estledin one has a hood, not sure which.
I got this quest at level 26.(not 31) Was red and group quest though. Starts at goldberries spring.
L26 Grimbark's Reclamation (Goldberry in Old Forest)
- Collect Grimbark's Seeds (He's in Agamuar in Lone Lands)
- Reward: Celegdram (1h mace) +8 Might, +8 agility, 14.9 DPS, 41 max damage)
I'll then just put link to quest under item and level range
So it will look like this
MACE
L25
LINK
L30
LINK
Is it just me or does the new lorebook NOT give the stat boosts? All the weapons I have looked at in the lore book only indicate the damage and not the ++ to stats
L? - GIANT-KIN CAMP (NEED MORE INFO TO FIND LINK)
- +1 stealth cloak (with 50ish armor) available from a quest line from the Giant-kin camp on the otherside of the mountain range from Esteldin. (might not be as good as L30 class quest cloak reward).
it's only 37 armor, a lvl 31 quest, so it's much better to use the level 30 class quest cloak.
i agree Bastos, however I've read of some who didn't choose the cloak and chose the weapon instead.
Those of us who min/max understand which choice is the best, but for those who don't research a ton before choosing rewards... the weapon might be a nice upgrade for them @ lvl 30.
Best choice for you is the haunted forest quest... offered from buckland.
Kill something, then bats, then wolves, then bears, then critters, then annoyingsomethingelse, then... then.. finally you end up getting sent into the weavers den to eliminate the source of the evil - an elite lvl 18 tree.
Killing it, offers you a 9.x (4 or 6) dps mace which is about as good as you're going to get until you hit the stanric quest.
This information is incorrect. The quest Clear Water is level 28, it doesn't become available at level 25 after you've finished Terror in the Sky (I'm level 25 and this quest is not available), Well-Prepared becomes available after Terror in the Sky. You must have to be higher level than 25 to unlock the Clear Water quest.

I completed Clear Water at 23. Stanric did not have a quest ring over his head, but he still offered the quest (and paid out the quest reward at the end).
You have to do 'Well Prepared' first. Read the Clearwater quest...it even talks about the water bladders. Those stomachs your collecting are the same ones your filling with water.
That being said I'm on 'Well Prepared' at the moment at lvl 28 and no 'Clearwater'

Could be. According to Lorebook, Clear Water becomes available after Terror in the Sky (as does Well-Prepared). It doesn't say that Well-Prepared is a prerequisite for Clear Water, it's probably a mistake in Lorebook, if you have to finish Well-Prepared before Clear Water opens it should be listed as the prerequisite.
It would also be nice if Lorebook listed what will be opened after a quest is completed, not just the prerequisites (makes it easier to plan out your quest progression paths).
EDIT: Just finished Well-Prepared and recieved Clear Water. Lorebook is mistaken (at least as far as Hobbit Burglars go), you must do Terror in the Sky > Well-Prepared > Clear Water.

There is still alot that needs to be done in Lorebook. I could be wrong but I have finished Terror in the Skies and got Well-Prepared but no Clear Water as of yet. I'm going to finish Welll-Prepared tonight so I guess we will see.
