I would like to introduce the Kings Beyond the Wall kinship on the Landroval server. Our goal is to provide a mature (age 25+, exceptions for special cases), casual environment with Light RP and lots of fun! Many in the kinship are working professionals, with families. We understand family / work / friends come first and that your primary reason to play LOTRO is to have fun!

So you may be asking yourself "Why would I join Kings Beyond the Wall?" Great question!

We are a working professional / family oriented guild that enjoys playing together. We like to do things together as a group and joke around while we are doing it. We understand if your baby is spitting up or your kids need a bath and you have to leave on short notice. We dont expect you to dedicate your life to the guild or the game. Your family / work come first with us.

We have a regular play night. On Friday nights, we try to get together and run quests / instances. We have what we call "Friday Characters" that we advance through the story together through instances and quests. For those of you with busy schedules and limited playtime, we've found having a consistent play night helps getting everyone together and having fun. If you play one night a week, you can still be an active part of this guild.

We like to discuss the game. Our forums are a wonderful resource for new and old players alike. We are active on forums and use them to organize our playtime. At a glance, you can see what guild members are in the same "area" of the game who can help you out. We provide an event planning forum where you can plan your next moves and get member help on your way.

We have a dedicated Teamspeak / Ventrillo server for the guild for cases where a little extra coordination is required on quests and missions. Well, also so we can joke around without wearing out our typing fingers!

We help each other out. If you are a brand new player, we welcome you with open arms and will help you through the game. If you are an experienced player, we plan to play through the more advanced parts of the game.

We like roleplaying. On the roleplaying scale, we are light. Most of our groups do not include RP, but we do have RP events from time to time and we encourage players to have a story for their characters. Our guid chat is OOC. We dont expect you to know all of the lore or be able to speak elvish. We prefer to RP "Beyond the Wall" (while exploring) as opposed to sitting at the inn telling stories.

We have fun. We understand that this is a game and we treat it that way. We are not interested in guild political drama, secret workings or leadership by the fist. We are honest, open, direct, professional and most of all, funloving.

Wow, Good pickup on the book series (A Song of Ice and Fire) that generated our name! Its good to see there are other fans of the books out there!

I'd like to announce our first "Kings of Friday Night" event. This is our kinship's weekly event to help facilitate everyone playing together and getting major quests / instances completed in game. On these nights, we try to advance the story (chapters) together, and do any fellowship quests or instances the group needs. The idea is for the group to be the same players each week. As demand grows, we will be adding other nights and times.

Kings of Friday Night will take place at 8:30 Central US Time. We will be starting with Chapter 1 on May 18th. More details will be available later in the week.

I'm thinking about using the Kingsguard as the name for our officers! Its actually the name of the members only section of our forums.

As far as the name Eddard, its not in our kinship. I name all my characters after classic baseball players.

My favorite series of books, ever. Hands down. (Har har, pun intended - Tyrion, Tywin, Davos, etc.) I'm currently deep into my eleventy-seventh time reading through them, and I'm STILL picking up little morsels and tidbits that I missed the first several times through.

Unfortunately, I'm really very much against the use of voice comms in MMO's, and Friday Nights are usually not possible for me. Good luck with the kinship though, and I'm sure I'll see you somewhere across the narrow sea.

Our plans for the "Kings of Friday Night" Event are solidifying. We will be playing the Chapter 1 quest together starting at about 8:30 Central US time. Tonight is our Kings of Friday Night event! We will be playing through Chapter 1 together starting at 8:30 Central US time. This will be a regular weekly event where we try to advance the story with the same group. Our Fellowship has two openings with a Guardian, Minstrel, Burglar and Loremaster already in the group. We are all level 15-17, so would appreciate new players being in the same level range!

Our Kings of Friday Night event was very fun, with everyone in the kinship participating! We ended up helping one of our members finish the prolouge quests, so we'll be doing Chapter 1 next.

We also played a game of tag out at the festival grounds. Venusia is an outstanding tag player. I tried to hide with my Burglar, but I was foiled by our fellowship radar!!

We're still in an open recruiting phase. Once we get to about 15 members, I will close recruiting for about a month and then open it up again. I dont envision our group getting larger than about 40 members.

Just wanted to post to say Goose will be away for a few days on vacation but we are still in open recruitment. Feel free to post your application on the website and/or contact me (Venusia) or our other officer Sigir in-game.

I've been in Kinships for a lot of different MMO's and so far I think I can safely say this one has the groundsworks to be the best. Tight-knit group, very friendly members, good leadership, active - although many of us are limited on playtime we make the best of the time we have. I've spent several evenings foregoing my quests in favor of helping out another kin member in accomplishing theirs. Everyone in the kinship shares the same friendly, helpful attitude and we always have a good time together.

Also some have mentioned an aversion to voice chat. So far I've yet to use it. It's there as a tool for those who want it but it's not a requirement. I'm not sure if anyone else uses it at this point either.

I am back in town and in game! We've had a couple of great applications to the kinship and we continue to grow.

We are beginning to plan our next Kings of Friday Night event for 6/1/07. We will either be helping people finish Book 1 or we will be making a trip into the Great Barrows. Either way should be fun! Feel free to contact me here, on our forums or in game (Goose) if you're interested in joining us!

I'm online Friday nights and the weekends. Soon I may be able to sneak on a weekday or two, but for now most of the time is weekends.

I spent 2 years with SWG until they made the big change sometime ago and it no longer went with my play style. I used to be a power player, but I burned out of it and fell back into casual to moderate play. I spent some time in DAoC and enjoyed my time there, but the servers started to dwindle and game appeared old to many.

I'm enjoying my time in LOTRO and I'm very please with what Turbine has done. This is my only MMO and probably will be for some time. I prefer to be grouped most of time even though the quest may not require it or just to tag along as I am a social person. I have had several very positive experiences with characters in-game, many were fellow longbeards :-). I don't mind helping people with quest I have done already as you won't catch me saying "I did it already" when help is needed. I hope I can lend my ax to your kinship.

We've had a great week with wonderful people joining the kinship. I'd like to welcome Caillean, Barrista, Jonargon, Torden, Argalad and Goldring to the kinship! All of them are great players and we are lucky to have them! I am still looking for Tagori in game and hope to meet up with him soon.

Our most recent Kings of Friday Night event took us into the Great Barrows for the first time. While we were a little under level, I was proud of how well the team worked together and we actually made it quite a ways into the instance. It was some of the most fun we've had in a game!

Our latest Kings of Friday Night event was another success. We had enough people to start a second group! One group went deep into the Great Barrows, taking out a boss despite being underleveled! The other group finished Retake Weathertop with the help of some alliance mates from Thelyn En Arda. What a fight at the end!

There'd definately space for more on Fridays and we are considering adding another game night for players who cant make Fridays. Looking forward to seeing you Beyond the Wall!

Bump for Kings!

Last night was a blast!!! Eoran, I had a great time with you guys and am glad we're allies... There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a 12 foot mountain troll is one of them.

We are making plans for the next Kings of Friday Night event. It looks like we will take one more crack at the Great Barrows before moving back into the Epic Story line in Book 2. We have open spaces in our groups and we'd love to play with other likeminded players! Feel free to contact me if you're interested!

We are getting ready for our Kings of Friday Night event! It looks like the plan is to attend the summer festival! We are planning to make this a kinship RP event. If we get tired of the revelry, we'll start Book 2, but we thought since the festival is temporary and Book 2 will always be there, why not party! Contact me if you're interested in joining!

We had a lot of fun last night attending the summer festival! Quite a few of us completed the tavern crawl in the Shire and learned some new dance steps. I had a wonderful time RP'ing with all of our members. I'm already looking forward to next week!

We're well into the planning for the 6/29 edition of the Kings of Friday Night! It looks like we'll be tackling the Epic Quests in Book 2 this Friday. Lately, we've had a second group running and there is room for more! If you're interested in coming along, feel free to contact me!

We had another successful Kings of Friday Night event! We took a full group through Book 2 chapters 1-7. I've heard Chapter 8 is a lot of fun, so I cant wait to try to tackle that one.

We will be starting up a few other events. Our new officer Eoran will be leading an RP exploration night. Keep an eye on our forums for dates and times! We are also looking at an alternate night to Friday for folks who cant make it. We're also planning a crafting night. Lots of things in the works!

This Friday, we took another group through the Epic Book 2 quests. We're all ready for the grand finale in Chapter 8! Another great night!

Its been a few weeks since I posted an update, but we've been very active in the meantime! We've added another event to our week. On Monday we had our first RP exploration event. The event was all IC and was the launch of our kinship storyline. I was laughing most of the night and cant wait for the next event. The RP events are planned to be weekly event.

We're in the process of planning our Kings of Friday night event now. Last week we got started on Epic Book 3.

We've finalized the plans for tonights Kings of Friday Night Event. We're going to tackle the Agamaur instance. We'll be taking care of the quests on the outside and then going in to try to fell Ivar. I've heard this is going to be quite a challenge so it should be a good time!

We had an outstanding instance run last night. It was many of our first runs through Agamaur and we managed to down Ivar on only the second try. Excellent teamwork from everyone!

We're now looking forward to our kinship storyline event on Monday 8/13. This is an RP event and will be kicking off between 8:30 and 9:00 PM Central US. Let me know if you are interested in participating!

Just giving this thread a bump since it hasn't been posted in for awile. KING (or KBtW) is going quite well. We have about 20 active members with about 2 full groups on for Friday night Kings night. This kinship is bar none the best on Landroval for mature players with light to medium RP'ing. We've had very little turnover, almost all members who end up joining the kinship stick around.

As Ty said, the kinship is doing very well and our members are the reason. I feel so lucky to have such caring and helpful members!

We have finalized our plans for tonight. We'll be playing through the Epic Book 4. We also have several new members at lower levels so the plan is to get another group together to do Book 1 or clear out some of those low level fellowship quests together.

I haven't run across Eddard yet, but Stannis Baratheon passed me in Bree and then a short time later I saw a character named Lannister
