Turbine Maintenance Update 2/17/13: At this time all Game servers are available. MyAccount services and the LOTRO Store remain unavailable. We are working to restore these services, and will update you as soon as more information is available.
Turbine Maintenance Update 2/15/2013
We are working to resolve ongoing issues with our system maintenance. At this time we do not have a specific estimate for when the game servers will be available. Our goal is to make the games available as soon as possible. However we would like to advise players that the service may continue to be unavailable this evening. We will continue to provide updates as we have them.
As a thank you for your understanding and patience during this downtime, all Premium and VIP players who have logged into their account in the past 30 Days (as of 6:00AM Eastern time on 2/14/2013) will receive 250 Turbine points. In addition, all VIP players who have logged in during the same period will have their accounts credited 1 day of VIP time for each day of downtime, plus 1 additional day. All points and additional time will be granted automatically as soon as our regular service is restored and stable.

Thanks for the more than generous gesture and the steady stream of updates. We know you're working as fast as you can and dealing with a lot of grumpy players while you do. Most of the playerbase accepts that this isn't something you're in control of and appreciates the free stuff. Thanks guys, and good luck getting things sorted.
Wishing you a swift recovery. As an IT guy and editor of two websites, I know how painful it is to watch your portal being offline with thousands of people trying to access it.
Thank you for the update, certainly a nice thank you and best of luck with getting everything put together. Hopefully you guys will be able to get some sleep at some point this week.

thank you for the updated information sapience. im sure it will do a lot to ease peoples tension over the downtime to know they are going to be compensated. keep up the hard work man. i know its rough over there right now

Unexpected compensation is a nice surprise, but I really think no compensation was needed as this downtime must be very important and the communication on the forums/twitter etc during this down time has been excellent on what is going on (And even provides some entertainment) but hey, can't complain at bonus points.
Keep up the excellent communication.

Lifers have the same status as VIPs. The only different is that they no longer pay; so lifers will get the bonuses as well.

Sapience...the only way you could have ended that better was if you had closed with "drops mic....walks off stage" you just managed to shut all the naysayers and criers up lolol

Thanks Sapience, it's very much appreciated, especially the 250TP, you really didn't have to do that, the days credited for the paying customers i would have expected, but the 250TP is very much appreciated.
What is more appreciated though is the time and effort you guys have put into this maintenance and especially you guys in community management who have done really well to keep us informed and dampen any fires.
I am a new player and this has been very upsetting for me. Please take that as a compliment, I am very addicted to this game. I think that was very generous and for a new guy like me it makes me feel more comfortable making the VIP purchase. Your customer service rocks. Take it from a restuarant manager who has to hand out freebies more often than he would like.

Not sure that all they naysayers will &&&& up, seeing as, from what I read, it will only be VIP/Lifers who get it.
wow--I can only imagine what could have happened to cause such a long delay, and I sincerely sympathize with you all in trying to fix whatever it is! And I'm really hoping you have rotating shifts dealing with it, 'cause I'm thinking the coffee and 5 hour energies probably aren't helping much anymore!
Thanks for the updates and the generous TP and game-time bonuses! And I'll continue to sternly make myself be patient! I suppose while I wait, I can always fix my LOTR cravings by playing the old Battle for Middle Earth game........
