Thanks for the pics. Will get on BR later, but for now, thank you for the screenies.
I love that droopy hood, but it doesn't look very conducive to burgling. The burglar there probably thinks noone can see her if she can't see them, eh?
The hunter one is kind of quaint, and a simple humble look, with a goofy lumberjack hat. The LM robe looks really nice. Not quite as fancy of a cosmetic as the Rohan woman npcs have, but its not too shabby at all. *and I can't help but crack up at the sight of the Guard's balloon sized shoulders.*

Thank you for the screens. And I have to say, DAMN, THEY ARE UGLY! OD set was nice, even BG looks better then this... I'm playing burg and hunter, burg set looks a bit like a Jedi, hunter set is a totally no go. Where are the designers which brought us the great OD sets?

Bahaha, I know.. I feel like with that hood she's gonna run into a wall, push it back.. But for cosmetics.. Love it. LM robe is probably my favourite piece so far...
Yeah those shoulders... erugh

Which armors are those? Is it the new raid stuff? BR is still cleaning up the old connection for me so I am not able to see them yet x.x Are they actually in the skirmish camp or somewhere else?

This is the new raid armour, which you can barter for in the skirmish camp. No Ox-clam camp like last time.

The sets alone aren't that bad even though they are overall ugly.
But some pieces alone are good use of cosmetics like the assassin creed's burg hood XD and the guard boots.
Just take the good parts and dye it, combine it with other cosmetic gears or with each other and now you got something new and unique.
Note: Still doesn't beat OD/DN/ToO/BG/MoM/Rift sets in terms of looks as a set.
Edit: For some reason it has an Easterling feeling in the set's looks.
No it's not a chauvinist/sexist thing, it's just that sometimes armour sets look cosmetically different in female/male. Sometimes certain sets look better on females than males and viceversa. To give you an idea of what I mean, look at the warden set on the female model posted here and now check it out on a male model this thread:
You see how at least the warden set, looks better on males because of the shoulder width/waist ratio? On a female model it looks way too bulky to actually look wa(r)den-y, just imagine trying to do agile warden gambit maneuvers on a bulky eskimo coat .......
Same thing goes with Hobbit/Dwarf models , please do post them if you can.
First off, let me say what I like. I absolutely love that RK robe. It's very artfully done. I like the Rune-keeper and Champion sets most. The Hunter and Burglar sets are good, except for the head pieces. The Warden armor isn't bad on a male character model, but it looks ridiculously baggy on a female character model. Lore-master armor is okay, but looks much better on males. Minstrel armor...uh...it looks like the Herdsman's jacket (or whatever it is) from the skirmish camp cosmetic barter dude with some odds and ends thrown on. The Guardian armour looks a tad silly to me. The Captain set is obviously bugged. Hopefully it turns out to look all right.
Aside from the RK and Champ sets, this seems to me like a step down from the Orthanc armor sets (purple OR teal).
Is there any way to at least adjust the way the armor sets appear on female character models?
LOVE the Champ set, love the Warden shoulders, and the Burglar set is a look I've been wanting for a while now. The only "weak" one IMO is the Hunter set, which looks to me like a Yule festival outfit. Maybe it's just the color.
Seriously...-shakes head in disbelief-...is it because the good artists are working on store stuff? I don't get it...compare any of these to the Rift sets you can buy from the store and tell me any of these hard-earned raid sets come close.
Wow...I mean, wow. I'm gonna have to assume these screenies are simply place-holders, and the real nice looking sets will drop when it goes live.
Total Time Played This Week: 27 hours
Total Time Spent in Skirm's: 11 minutes
I asked over and over if the Rohan things would get new deco, if the items were just placeholders, if my hunter really was supposed to run around in a t-shirt, if the big brutally ugly central images splashed on top of everything truly were meant to look so sketchy and ugly, if the new cloaks were supposed to look so truly awful and if the crafted armor really was intended to NOT ALIGN WITH MY CHARACTER'S FEET and clearly the answer is yes
Yes to the following, possibly:
no artist was fed making these items
no extra time was spent making these items look OK
no priority was given to styling this year in any shape or form that I have noticed
No theme, no appeal, no grace, no quality
just repainted old stuff and the new ones are an eye-sore.
Ripping out the heart of what makes this game addictive, pasting another horrible skin on some ill-fitting piece of model that doesn't match anything old, looks awful in itself, has severe clipping issues with hair (hood of horse-lords and hobbits? anything and a beard? shoulder-length hair and anything newly added?) feet gloves boots
...and no doubt all of the chest pieces are 1-pieces shirt-n-pants all in one.
Because styling up stuff is boring and cost design money.
Far gone are the days of lovely looking raid armour such as DN/BG. Only positive thing about this means I won't want to get raid gear on loads of different toons for cosmetics.
The RK robe wouldn't be that bad if the Green Trim didn't stay there when it was dyed. Having to keep that Green Trim Band really limits the color combinations that could be used.
Guardian looks like an astronaut or space marine. The warden looks like the marshmellow man. The hunter looks like a farmer. The burg; somebody please make sure she doesn't walk into a wall.
These sets seriously make me cringe. Can we just have some real and authentic looking armor. Can anyone seriously picture these sets on anyone in the books? It's almost laughable.
I don't like the guardian armor on my hobbit. The shoulders cover almost the entire arm. They're as big as the helmet. If I wear it I'd look like a 3 headed hobbit....

I think the "theme" of these armour should be the wilderland and sets should be ranger-style or something like that.
An armour crafted by an adventurer more than by a smith, probably.
Problem is, medium armours are quite ok (burg hood isn't, but still). Heavy armours are decent (better then hytbold, at least imo). Light are horrible. Another robe. What i really liked about RoI armour was light armour were... armours, not robes.
At least i have a champ.
Most of these are really appalling. The Hytbold stuff was unimaginative, but at least not outright offensively ugly.
Most armour is drawn on human males and tends to look better on them than any other race/gender combination. You really see that with the warden set. For some reason those hip pieces sit at the waist for a male and drop down to the widest part of the hips on a female, making them look like she's wearing orange balloons.
The guard set is beyond ridiculous with the inflated WoW-style shoulders and bare forearms. What happened to armour as protection?
Yet another in a long line of hideous minstrel sets.
Thank Eru we don't have to walk around showing this rubbish except in the Moors.

Oh goodness.
I think the chest piece is very spiffy. It is just the helmet & shoulders that are cracking me up. *cackles* Cracking up... Get it? I like my hobbit eggs fried.
Ooops, sorry, my warg is showing again. *blush*

And so we get the second part of the IC and where's the warden armor that was shown on the RoR website. One of the best looking pics of all the promo ones, and where is it?
