Stat exploits - fixed?
Just wondering if Turbine ever fixed the stat exploit on freepside.

I've heard varying reports from people in game - some saying its been fixed, others saying it hasn't been fixed.

Anyone know for sure?

What's to comment on? Turbine likes cheaters. Boxers, farmers, stat exploiters, terrain exploiters....Turbine loves them all equally.

So be it - this exploit has been around for months now and still isn't fixed.

If it takes every freep running around with exploited stats before Turbine decides to fix the glitch, then at least it finally gets fixed in the end

Doubt it.

Double Fleetness was fixed almost immediately even though only a handful of people could even hope to earn both sets quick enough to warrant Turbine's attention. And there was like one noticeable thread.

This one? No fix despite constant complaining.

Whatever the reason, there is only one certain result: more exploiters, now including even dumber ones.

Last thread was locked due to certain people's in-game names being posted here in pictures and videos. I dont think the mods will lock the thread as long as no in-game names are mentioned in anyway, especially accusing them of anything.

Otherwise this is an interesting topic, does anyone have any more info on it?

Please do not name names though! We're interested in what, not who.

As far as I'm aware it is fixed on live during an update to the game several weeks ago. I have no interest in testing to see if it is fixed and getting my page bugged.

The important thing is it will be fixed for Rohan. I guarantee that because it is already done and I've already discussed the issue with 2 different devs and their superior.

If it is not fixed well then sorry. It's been around for a while I'm sure you can wait one more month until Rohan release. The issue is game-breaking and should have been fixed the day I reported it months ago but alas it was not. The only unfortunate thing is people that are using it aren't getting banned.

That encapsulates the problem in a nutshell, a game breaking exploit most of us knew about and its been months. Not only that people using the exploit arent being punished at all. I know a lot of these idiots will be happy as pigs in poop over your post but it speaks to the core issue of lotro PvP.

Turbine will always give the paying freep the advantage, even through suppression and denial. There is no integrity here, its mostly a sham. I say this with full understanding of what PvP was always meant to be and that lotro is a PvE centric game.

Edit: I can confirm this exploit is fixed. At least on my server and by the only method I'm aware exists. So there you go they haven't ignored it. The gladden screenshot is either old and not updated or there is a server loophole or another method I and the devs are not aware of.

Why on earth would they ban someone that does this? That would be stupid,banning someone that pays money every month,or even more times a month to the company.... Explains everything doesnt it?


Dont get me wrong,i would love them having backbone and banning people for exploiting,cheating,bugusing and pvmp farming points with your 2nd account etc,resetting their gains atleast if banning hurts turbines moneybag too much

But the only way to get banned with turbine is probably to write enough racist slurs,or other heavy insulting stuff in chat/forums,so they have no other choice but to ban you... Oh,what also works very well is talk about another game,and voice critics about Turbine xD

Stacking is not fixed on Gladden. I don't see how it could be limited to specific servers. I'd assume it isn't fixed on any live servers.

That wasnt the point. You are an extremely credable poster IMHO, ive read your posts when you choose to engage the conversation. Thus when you make a comment like this (bolded red the important part):

This is indicitive of a larger problem, one that a lot of players dont bother to address but you indirectly have. When someone makes the comment above its prudent to consider the larger implications. Why exactly wasnt a game breaking issue fixed months ago?

It takes a lot of wind to get Turbine moving. My guess is that the alternate exploit wasn't reported enough or at all. Only Turbine knows for sure.

Well last night I had a VT crit for ~750 on an LM. Tool tip says almost 3k and this was a crit.

And no, I did not have windlore on me.

Keep in mind before you accuse someone of exploiting the following:

It is easy to cap mitigation on any class, that is not a good way to identify if someone is using.

Look for the following:
-High morale. No need for agility/will/might stacking.
-Hitting through buffs such as BA evade with unusual consistency.
-Resisting a ridiculous amount.
-Certain classes doing unusual solo damage. Example. Hunters can come close to DPS cap without sacrificing abnormal morale. Champs even when going low morale are still a ways off of cap. If a champ with 10k morale solo almost 1 shots you look them up. Reference to #1.

I've seen almost 90% of people look up people because they feel they aren't doing enough damage. This is because of max mitigation gear, scrolls, outnumbered buff, and audacity.

If you find someone bug report it. Think of it like the TV show Prison Break. The public as a whole is what really helps bring down the bad guys. (I'd recommend watching it) If we as a community can identify and report everyone who uses if we can get a good movement going Turbine will be forced to take action against these individuals even if they can't fix the bug via "techy" method.

Ummm... Wisdom of the Council? 5% chance to negate 100% any common, fire, shadow damage. They've had this since forever. What rank are you again?

Hope this gets fixed soon or we'll continue to see people point fingers at people as "exploiters" using this when really it's just skills they don't understand.

You can easily look up anyone via the following link:

Since it's pretty easy to make your stats anonymous through mylotro, you can use the above link to search for the person via server. When you locate the person, you may click the "view" icon and it could take you to a version of their typical mylotro entry which may otherwise not be available. I suggest, before accusing anyone, you locate their stats and screenshot it with a time stamp and submit to turbine (if you're so inclined).

I also saw ~3 or 4 absorbs.... I wish some of my creeps and their, 25% chance to proc, skills going through as often as that 5% did but that horse has been beaten enough times already.

With 30% reduction from audacity and wind-lore, I am not at all shocked that an LM would take that much damage from VT...

wind lore reduces by 50% and a raven can also reduce by 50% (http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Distraction)

a single 50% reduction could explain a crit VT for 700, on my hunter i'm around 38% tact mit and a dev VT hits me for 2k with no buffs on either side (if i remember correctly, it's not a pleasant event)

So Turbine has once again exercised the 'shoot the messenger' drill rather than taking a 'fix the leak' approach. No wait thats wrong...they did fix the leak, not by fixing the problem but by fixing the leak in information...Turbine you crafty old dogs you! Long as no one speaks about it, the problem should magically go away, yea?


Oh well, at this point of time Im not too surprised by the turn of events...
