Thread: Minstrel Weapons

Hiya, I'm just about to enter Moria and have to choose my first LI (yea!). My question is ... does it matter which weapon I take? That is to say, is there a big difference between the sword, mace, club or dagger? My Mini is usually in War-speech, and I tend to group up regularly with a Champion-buddy of mine... (just in case it's relevant information^^). Thanks guys.

The only difference between the weapons of the same minimum level is the inherent bonus to auto-attacks each has.

So, as a Minstrel, how much time do you spend letting your character auto-attack a mob? Slim to none?
Yea, that's how much the difference matters.

If you have a hobbit and have the +2% club-dmg race-trait... then its just 2% better to have a club dosent matter so much, but a little extra dmg when they are close and you are autoattacking anyway is nice. But its only in the endgame where a few % makes any different. And in endgame we minstrels usally heals

I know a lot of human females who walk around with mace. Especially at night in the city. LOL

I generally think the swords and daggers look cooler, so that's what I got. The level 60 First Age sword is awesome.

Auto-attacks do happen a lot. Back when the mace had chance to stun and many minstrels used maces for that reason, you could see that it would activate now and then and be useful. But the +2% sword accuracy won't matter much at all given the rate of auto attacks. Similarly +2% damage on auto-attacks is not really worth wasting a racial trait unless you don't have others.

Overall now what's important is to pick what looks good on your character.
