I keep getting mangled layouts, bad request messages, having to refresh the page trying to reply or create new threads because the page wasn't rendered properly (fields messed up, elements missing, etc.) Is this a known issue? It seems to have cropped up within the past week, and it's getting really bad. I see this both here at home on Firefox and at work on IE, so it's not location specific or browser dependent.

I get HTTP Error 400 (Bad Request) or a hung browser (tab shows loading/busy indefinitely) roughly half the time I try to navigate within this site. This is not an exaggeration.
HTTP 400 is supposed to mean there is a problem with the URL, but hitting refresh (which just sends the same URL again) several times usually results in the page loading. So I don't believe there is actually a problem with the URL (and in every case the URL is just a link within the forums themselves, not something I typed in manually).
I also frequently get mangled layout.
I do not have this problem with HTTP 400 errors or bad layout on any other websites. None.
This has been happening to me for months.
What I have tried:
1) Setting Internet Explorer to "Compatibility Mode" (no change in the HTTP errors, layout problems get worse)
2) Setting the browser to unconditionally accept cookies from *.lotro.com and *.turbine.com
Browser is IE9 (32-bit), always patched up to date, on Windows 7 (64-bit). This is the default browser option on Windows 7, I have not changed any browser configuration. The only 3rd-party browser addons I am running are Shockwave Flash and Adobe PDF helper, both of which are very widely used without issues.
Edit: As if to prove the point, it hung the first time I tried to submit this reply...
Exactly what the above poster said. It's very frustrating trying to navigate this site. I highly suspect it's script code (CSS or javascript, asp, or something like that) which is the root cause. I also have zero issues browsing other sites. This is the only one where it's plagued with problems. Here's some samples:
Does anyone there know if this is going to be fixed? It's borderline ridiculous to be experiencing this poorly coded nonsense, and then get no indication that the problem is getting any attention or even an acknowledgement that Turbine is aware of the issues.
On a related note, this site has been "beta" for over 5 years. What's the deal?

Given the lack of any concern in the 2.5 weeks since you started this thread and provided explicit documentation of the problem, I'm guessing the answer is "no".
Might try contacting Warner Brothers, since this site's quality (or lack thereof) reflects poorly on their image as a leading media company. There are fansites run by amateurs in their spare time with fewer bugs.
I'm having lots of this today, as well. The mangled layouts has happened in the past but not as often as I'm seeing today. The 'bad request' is happening quite a bit whenever I click on a link. Just trying to type this post, I had to refresh the page a few times to get the text box (and format options) to properly load.
I have given up all hope on this site. It plain sucks. It's horrible. The reason I'm here so much is because I love the community. But the site itself is stuck in the 90s.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
Civ II rules after all these years......
I completely agree. The worst thing is Turbine doesn't care at all.
I pretty much only check dev tracker most of the time - and even for such simple task I typically have to log back into the forums (despite having the "keep me logged in" checkbox checked) and hit the dev tracker link twice, because first time it takes me to the main page. If I am lucky pages get stuck loading. Yay.
Many philosophical problems are caused by such things as the simple inability to shut up.
