I'm not very good at speaking but i'm proud of the work i've been doing the last weeks Raiding just to get screenshots, it makes an interesting excuse to raid. Anyway... have you ever realize how much times you need to wipe to learn a fight? how many different strategys there are over internet? how many times someone just disconnects and when you invite a new person he doesn't know the fight or the mechanics involved because is his first time there?
Well this plugin should help to those doing their "First time" (and also if you forget any specific debuff, you can easily check). In this plugin i provide an strategy for each fight (Every strategy has been tested and they work just fine) But if you don't want to use it, the plugin still can be useful to check every enemy skill.
It haves:
- Detailed Maps.
- Detailed pulls strategys.
- Detailed enemies debuffs, special skills and buffs (and how to stop them).
- Loot tables, check what items drops from on each boss right next to the chest.
- Abbility to store and send to chat your own personal strategies.
Weekly i will update it with guides of new Raids or instances, you can check the features of each version in the Plugins Info section.
As example of how it looks:
Even a better example:
Bah, i'm awful at presentations, just check some features of all that it haves in the screenshots.
Interesting Plugin!
Have you considered uploading to Lotrointerface? More people may see it there than here.
i tried but no matter what i always get an "unexpected file extension" error and doesn't let me upload it. The file is a .rar and should be fine... i don't know what is the problem with it.
Any help with that?
P.S. I just finished the Acid wing of ToO guide and i get screenshots of all saruman rings skills tooltips (made me leave instance and join 5 times just to take screenshots... sigh) So... next update be ready for ToO tier 1 guide. I consider tier 2 will need a separate guide.
This is a flipping fantastic idea. As someone who usually PUGs, even on Raids, it would be a godsend to have this kind of information available rather than having to explain for the umpteenth time to the hunter that they can't stand wherever they fancy in the Vile Maw.
Obviously a tremendous amount of work went into this. Good on you for that. It would be nice if there were some mechanism for others to contribute to ongoing updates. I haven't downloaded the plugin as yet. Is it customizable by the user for custom strats? Another cool feature would be a button that could auto-copy text instructions to the chat window before encounters.

lotrointerface stopped accepting .RAR files a few months ago. They take zip.
Nice effort, clearly a lot of work has gone in to collecting the data for for which I applaud you.
That said, I don't see how it is going to accomplish your intention of not having to explain fights. It is likely that the people who need fights explained to them will not have the plugin installed and or even know what a plugin is. They will still have to have the fight explained to them or be referred to an appropriate website or youtube video in order to get an idea of the strategy.
Don't get me wrong, as an 'ingame reference' it is a really neat tool and is nice to have all the information in one place without having to alt tab out. It will also be really useful for raid leaders to if they to remind them of the key points of the fight etc. and what loot drops etc. I just don't see it really being helpful in cutting out explanations or wipes though.

- First of all i am just doing the guides with all the info.
- Second task when i finnish all guides will be the abbility to Copy and Paste the text in the guides. Also will add an special section to Send to chat specific commands depending of what is happening and also a summary of explanations of the fight.
- And third of all, i expect this to be not soon would be to get automatic responses to some events. (For example a boss says "Stay closer, yadda yadda" and the plugin will make that a button in the center of the screen flash, clicking that sends a message to the chat that says "AoE, run away!" with red words). It's a beta idea but i think it could work, sadly still requires that a human click on the button to send info to the chat, can't be automatic, but a good leader shouldn't have troubles with it.

Yes and no, it has his own soft-code file that can be easily edited, you can remove images, add new ones or add just information, that should enable more players to make their own guides, but i suggest to Not do it yet, since i'm working in a big update that would change how that works. After that is done i will public say that is safe to the strategys.
How to contribute...? well honestly there's not an easy way, the best you can do is to simply send me a mail or post in this thread if some info is missleading or you have a better quality screenshot. (or i missed any debuff).
(expecting the visual help to be incredibly useful)
keep the updates coming

would this be a /raidshout macro? and do those work in fellowships? or would you use a colour-changing thingy? any way it's implemented, this plugin will go a LONG way to making all instances PUG-able

Actually i have no idea about how i will do it, there's only an idea and it can evolve in so many differents ways that i'm not bothering on that yet, i still have a lot of guides to do before that.
Update: I was invited this evening to do a Shadow wing of ToO, we also tried to 9-man saruman and i finally could get a nice screenshot of the phase 5 shadow sarumans healing. With that i got covered the entire ToO guide and the next update will be ToO tier 1 + BG raid + A more easier to navigate menu for each instance.
I'm really tired but this is worth, be ready for wich will be my bigger update until now. I expect that it will still take me around 6 more hours to get done the 2 wings that i have left of BG + Shadow ToO. Maybe tomorrow is ready.
-Fixed: The main window doesn't pop up when the plugin is loading (No more issues if you set it to always load it in the plugin manager).
-Fixed: The scrollbar appearing out of the window issue has been fixed.
-Fixed: A lot of typos.
-Added: Barad guldur complete guide with a lot of screenshots.
-Added: ToO Fire and Frost guide.
-Added: ToO Shadow guide.
-New: All sections have now their own menu (Maps to know where is each wing).
-New: The little icon now tracks it's own position and won't get the main window position anymore (IF it's the first time that you load this plugin it will appear in the top left corner).
-Updated: ToO saruman phase 5 induction screenshot.
-Updated: Filikul Loot screenshots.
-Updated: ToO Acid wargs rend tooltip and pull 2 screenshot.
-Updated: Fixed missleading information in how to tank Draigoch.
-Updated: OD ivar Trolls debuff screenshot.
-Not fixed: *** The strategys windows should be resizable, but i don't know how to do it.
Sae, you have one really REALLY awful typo. Not strategys, but strategies. But anyway good job.
Well, not bad for a non-english player, i'm happy with the typos i didn't made hahaha. Thank's for the head's up sicof, i already fixed that one and... added a few more things here:
- 1.1 -
-New: The strategys windows can now be resizable, but only in it's heigh position.
-New: The little icon hides when you press f12 (To take screenshots).
-New: All the texts in the guides are now able to be copied and pasted using ctrl+c and ctrl+v Selections.
-New: Divided the strategys of Raids, 3-mans, skirmishes and 6-mans into different .lua Files, to edit easier if anyone want to. (The raid info file was getting pretty big in size)
-Fixed: ToO Acid had a problem with the expected height of texts. I fixed that.
-Fixed: I explained better the debuffs in OD Gortheron tier 2 and added 1 screenshot.
-Fixed: We couldn't see a text in saruman fight because i did set wrong it's height size.
-Fixed: A lot of typos like "strategys" instead of strategies.
-Updated: The Special words section of Raiding 101.
-Updated: OD map now shows the right order to do the wings.
-Updated: 6-mans, 3-mans and skirmishes sections got a temporary Not ready message while i figure out for wich one start. (And i need to do Rift and helegrod guides before that)
-Updated: Added ToO F+F weaknesses of Usgarren screenshots.
-Updated: Main window got a little tweak and upgraded it's size to allow a new button for Skirmishes.
-Updated: Raiding 101 got a menu background upgrade.
-Updated: Raiding 101 types of instances section upgraded.
Rift update will be delayed for 1 week since i had troubles getting some info and i recently get a Beta code, so... i'm wasting my time there. I hope you all can understand it .
I will still need massive pictures of helegrod for next weeks, if anyone is interested in getting them.
And i plan to add a new feature that you are going to love.
How to deal with any enemy and what it does each debuff
Detailed maps of positioning in specific boss fights, stop not knowing where to stand!
The loot items can be compared when you hover into them. And since it uses the in-game database if turbine modify an item you will see the modified version into this plugin.
I can't continue with this project anymore, if anyone wants to continue from this point, please post in this thread and i'll send to you the latest version with changes that was never released because of a bug.
Oh noes!!
I was just going to start using this tool( once i get it to load that is)
I don't know any of this lua things so i cant do it sadly, but i really hope someone will
