I hail from Brandywine, where my very first characters were created years ago. I have been one of those back and forth gamers, always coming back to LOTRO, always wanting to stay but for some reason I can't put my finger on I have never been in a Kinship. I think perhaps because I have been moved back and forth between the USA and UK so many times over the years I put off / declined offers to join a kin, for fear at having to leave them.
I was thinking about taking the plunge and joining a kin on Brandywine, but lately ... GLFF and the general attitude there has been rather off-putting. People cursing, arguing, the main topic of talk seems to be dps and gear and who is better.
I long for brighter shores and am looking to transfer to Landroval with a 75 toon (one, not all - too damned expensive to transfer 3 characters, 75quid, no thank you!)
For the most part though, I'll need to re-roll so my question is - how do you advise I go about finding a kin. I see all these advertisements and they all look great, I can't decide. I feel so shy speaking in GLFF, and embarrassed to ask "Does anyone have a kin?"
I prefer kins without the dramatic names (such as the spamming Forbidden Riders of Destiny on Brandywine - which irks me to read every five minutes).
I'd probably be re-rolling a minstrel and burglar, while bringing over a 75 captain main. I've played captain to cap (har had) 5 times, I don't fancy a sixth.
...therein lies my problem. I re-reoll to much. Help me find a home so I have an excuse to stay and grow, not re-roll out of boredom.
Finding a kinship is always a hit or miss thing. Do research such as what kin advertising here suits your playstyle and social concerns. Know yourself! What your likes and dislikes are. And finally, consider what you would add to any kin you decide to join. After all, the good kins are a team effort.
