Is this Poor Hobbit Lost or just Paying a Ranger a Visit?
I was running around doing the early epics on my lowbie RK when I came upon this poor guy. He's just hanging out with Saeradan, but it seems a bit odd to find him here. I know he used to not be here, so was just wondering what made him to decide to make the journey? It's not like Saeradan has any crafting facilities at his cabin.
I wasn't sure if that guy wasn't there before, as I don't have a very good memory. But he looks odd. What is a hobbit doing there? And why a master of apprentices? :s
not sure on this one, but maybe because Saeradan is the most 'friendly' of the rangers so may have encouraged a wandering apprentice hobbit to shelter there for the nite safe from the encroaching bandits.
or...
the coders plopped him there for lack of knowing where else to put it
My vote is that he was paying him a visit. He would need a breath of fresh air after all that time in the crafting hall. The smoke from the forges can get over-bearing.
I think he is there because there are some crafting facilities across the street at the farm (forge, workbench). Otherwise, I think he is waiting for a ride to Candiath's Encampment then on to Ost Guruth.
Oh, didn't you hear? This is for the next expansion after Rohan:
The Lord of the Rings Online: The Betrayal of Grimey Proudfoot
It has been found out that the Rangers' deaths were not as you thought - it turns out that this fellow has been stalking the rangers, and each one ends up dead the next day of this hobbit's arrival.
I had noticed he'd appeared there a few months ago. Definitely was not there before that. I /bugged it just in case it was a mistake. I hadn't considered that he might be there because of the crafting areas nearby, but it'd make more sense to put him over there rather than by Saeradan if that was the case.

Maybe Saeradan was lonely? Or he is having a REALLY hard time deciding on what craft profession to take?
That hobbit has been there as long as I can remember. I never thought twice about him because there are travelling vendors in lots of out of the way places.
Once upon a time there was a lonely Ranger standing in the South Bree Fields. He tried to go inside his cabin, but then discovered that some unsavory adventurer (you burglars know who you are) had stolen the key. Rather than let on that a Dunadan had been pickpocketed, he pretended that he had just stepped outside for a breath of air.
That was five years ago. Poor Saeradan. He's been so lonely, just standing there outside of his cabin. A couple of years ago Turbine must have taken pity on him, because they gave him a horse to keep him company. That worked for a while, but Saeradan obviously required more substantive company.
He asked for a puppy, but Turbine decided, in their infinite wisdom, that the puppy would probably become lunch for one of the bears or wolves or fly-ridden pigs that make their home next door. So, they did the next best thing. They gave Saeradan a hobbit as a pet. Since Rangers are a little strange to begin with, and become even stranger when denied the use of a restroom for five years, Saeradan decided to name the hobbit Grimey, no doubt inspired by one of the neighborhood pigs.
As you can tell from the smile on Grimey's face, this has turned out to be one of the happy stories in Middle-earth. We don't know what will happen to Saeradan in the War of the Ring, but if he is spared he will return to his now-happy home, and Grimey will be waiting with his furry feet wagging. And they'll live happily ever after.
I once happened upon that named Half-orc that hangs around in the Lone Lands walking down that road. I think it is a place where dis-possessed NPCs end up.
Should this guy be in Trestlebridge? Since the re-vamp of the crafting gates for superior workstations, he got bored and went for a walk?
