Thread: I bought Shadows of Angmar

I bought Shadows of Angmar boxed set I downloaded everything, and it says I have to make a turbine account and then subscribe?? I thought I wouldn't have to do that, since I bought this set. Can someone please explain?

Shadows of Angmar was the original release name. It is NOT a quest pack set. It should give you 30 days of VIP game time (if it was a brand new, unused copy) and after that you can play for free or you can subscribe to remain VIP to have access to that content. You still have to have a Turbine account to use it. You don't have to subscribe to play. But as a free player you will only have access to Ered Luin, the Shire and Bree (the starting areas) and then Lone Lands. After that you will either have to subscribe to the game or use Turbine points to unlock the content. You can easily get to level 35 or so on just the free content.

You can activate your Shadows of Angmar Product key without signing up for recurring subscription fees. When it asks for payment information, just choose 'Game Card or Other Payment Methods' and then choose ' I don't have one now...'
