Thread: I reached my 520 points and am now a Master Metalsmith. Why won't it let me smith?

I was working on my Master Metalsmith title by creating armor. I just hit 520 points and the screen said the congratulatory, You are now a Master metalsmith!

It still says, "Earn Mastery in this craft to create superior crafted items."
So now I want to make the "higher level" superior crafted armor (with a chance to crit and make better armor), but that section is still GRAY. How do you enable it??

Look for a quest at the Expert Metalsmith.

I went into the metalsmith guild to see if there's a quest.
But there was not.

I am a "Journeyman" in my guild status.. does this mean I need to get to the next guild status level?

Not the metalsmith guild, just the Expert Metalsmith NPC that sells Metalsmith components. If you're in Thorin's Hall, he should be down by the forges.

Oh weird. This is NEW!
Looks like they added some new quest for metalsmithing to advance. This was never here before.

Okay, so I did the basic quest. Is there supposed to be another quest? It still won't let me make master items. I'm in Thorin's Hall talking to Molda and Ekill at the superior forge.
Now what??

Seriously? New crafting advancement quests? Wow, I guess I need to be more thorough when I read update notes. I could swear I have read all the recent update release notes, and have seen no mention about a quest for advancing to master level. Odd. I will have to check it out. I'm maxed out on all my crafting for most of my characters but I still have a few "baby" classes that are working on it.

Does anyone know of a link to some official post about this? Just curious.

It's nice the two NPCs are there by the forge so you can buy and sell without having to go up and down all those stairs.

I think I figured it out.

I had to complete Master Artisan, (both bars) and then the Master and the Supreme tab opened up!

So now if I complete the second set of Master, I can move on to Supreme metalsmith.
