I know it may sound a noobish question but I would like to know if there is a limit about how many legacies (minor and major) I can add to my legendary items.

Without the Crystal of Remembrance, the max amount of legacies you can have is 6. The LI will ID with 3 majors, and you will get three new legacies on the first three reforges. Most commonly those will be minor legacies, but you have a chance for any of those three to be majors as well.
I've never seen anyone add more than one legacy to their weapon with the Crystal, but in theory you could add as many as you wanted. You just wouldn't have the points available to level any of them up.
