Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
Rolling for Resources: When in a fellowship, the entire fellowship is given a chance to roll on harvested items. Only the harvesting crafter, should be able to "loot" the items harvested.
This point has caused a lot of controversy in World of Warcraft, particularly with repest to the Pristine Hide of the beast. This is is a very rare item that is obtained by skinning The Beast, a monster found deep in an instance, somewhere you're not going to get to on your own. Many skinners feel that only the skinners in the party should be entitled to roll on the items since it cannot be obtained without a high level of skinning combined with magic items (it needs skinning 315 which was quite high when the skill cap was 300 :-). Many other people (including me) believe that the whole party should be entitled to roll on the item since the skinner would not have been able to make it that far and kill the beast without the help of the party.
There is no right answer to this, of course, since loot rules are (or at least "should be") decided by the group at the start of the run. Each group might have a different ruling. What is important is that the rules be communicated before the run so that someone who disagrees has the option to leave the group.
I suggest a note be made next to this item in the FAQ saying something like "This rule, like all loot distribution rules, should be decided by a group before a run starts, otherwise there will be trouble".

Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
I have a question about crafting :P
Ok say if you become a journeyman in Making armor. In order to make armor you need to get broiled hides. In order to get broiled Hides you need a forester.
So if you become a forester to get broiled hides does it Clear your Journeyman state or does it just clear the xp gained towards the next teir?
I dont know if this has been asked before but I looked around and havent seen it sorry if its a repost :P

Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
Not sure if this has been posted, because for some reason, I can't see anything past the second page of this thread. But since it hasn't been updated, I'm guessing you still need the info.
The quest is The Call of Precious Things: Part I7.2 Jeweller QuestsJourneyman:
You get the quest from any(?) Novice Jeweller trainer.
Talk to Kobbi Stonestar at the Forsaken Inn, in the Lone Lands (he's inside the Inn)
Reward: Craft Jeweller Complete Proficiency Tier 1
I'll post higher tiers when I get to them, unless others provide the info first.
Well first of all they're boiled, not broiled, hides...Ok say if you become a journeyman in Making armor.
Anyway, if you switch Vocations, you will lose all progress in any Profession from your old Vocation that isn't in the new one. So if you switch from Armorer (Prospector/Metalsmith/Tailor) to Woodsman (Farmer/Forester/Woodworker) in order to be able to boil hides, you'd lose all your progress in all 3 of your old Professions. But if you switched from Armorer to Explorer (Tailor/Forester/Prospector) you'd keep your progress in Tailor and Prospector, and only lose your Metalsmith progress while gaining the Forester profession needed to boil hides. Though if you're wanting to make heavy armor, losing your Metalsmith progress is probably not a good thing. We began to realize that the horse we rode into town on was not really a horse. It was more of a cardboard cutout of a horse, poorly painted with watercolor paints – and it was raining. - Allan ‘Orion’ Maki

Do they really spell it Jeweller in the game?
Because it is most commonly spelled Jeweler.
I mean, you can spell it Jeweller, but..... that's like saing phat, is actually a word.

Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
with 2 L's is how the Brits spell it. And since it is the ENGLISH language, I'd say the Brits are somewhat the authority. Furthermore, Tolkien was British so if he made mention of Jewellers in his writting then it is probably safe to say that is how he spelled it. And since Americans have bastardized the English language with words like "phat" and turned "***" in to a derogatory word. I'd say your argument is backwards.
If ever you want the actual use, spelling or pronunciation of an English word; ask an Englishman, not an American.
Edit: See, cannot even use the 3-letter F word for cigarette.

Artisan: The Heart of Wood Part 3
The black heartwood is found on the ground in the giant valley just south of Rivendell. This area is full of elite drakes, worms, and trolls levels 38-44. When you enter the giant valley just stay on the right and you will come to a friendly giant (Arifael?) just go South past him and you will see some woodtrolls. There are two entrances to the troll area. The second from the right is the shorter way to the heartwood. The npc is not a friendly - it a woodtroll related to a an epic quest and it is non - aggro. You must have a group to reach the heartwood. So you want to fight them and work you way back about around 10 trolls and you will see a friendly npc. I believe it's an ent or a tree or maybe even a wood troll that i'm not sure. Well I found the black heartwood right near him. He's actually near the other entrance just south of the one I'm talking about where you fight your way in. If you fought through the other entrance you probably only fight like 5 trolls.
============================== ============================== ============================== ============================== =
Does the novice woodworker trainer hand out this quest? I've completed artisan and stuck since a ring didn't pop over the artisan woodworker's head.
Do I need to be higher than level 32 in order to obtain the quest?
Edit: Figured it out overtime looking everywhere for my answer. I ran across the EXPERT woodworker trainer (sorry, don't have the name) and they gave me the quest.Last edited by Xye; May 26 2007 at 09:14 PM.

Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
Corrections:
For the Cook Quests, Allsen Chubb should be changed to Alken Chubb. Its confusing to look for Allsen Chubb to start the quest, but everyone should be following their quest dialogue anyway.
Also, your link on the Warcry Guide, to the forum thread here, is incorrect and leads to a "thread not found" page.

Re: Draznar's Crafting Links, Guide, and FAQ
The Superior Workbench is in ESTELDIN.
PERMANENT CAMPFIRE
Adso's Camp outside of West Bree gate on road from Buckland. There are 2, a small one and a big one across the road from each other.
Ovens in the Shire:
SUPERIOR OVENS
Michel Delving
REGULAR OVENS
Hobbiton (at the Party Tree)
Brockenborings
Bywater
Budgeford
Ovens in Ered Luin:
Celondim
Duillond
Gondomon
Thorin's Hall
Also, there's now a drop called Squishy Boar Intestines and Bulbous Boar Intestines..or something like that; apparently they're for making advanced Lute strings for Minstrels. They pop up as a Purple. Squishy makes Lute Strings of Subtlety, Bulbous makes Greater Lute Strings of Subtlety.
EDIT:
The Shire lost the Superior Workbench to Esteldin, updated my post. Also edited to include the new Permanent Campfires.
