Is there Life on E ?

    The thread soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW0ACEOEq6w

So 6 of us european types from Gilrain ventured to E today to see how life was. It was about 9pm (so about 4pm for you folks) and we were here for a couple of hours. This one is mine:

The server seems pretty healthy for such a short off peak visit. I already have a soft spot for it by entering the moors and running to my friends whereupon my 1st blow struck was a ds on a burg for a kb.

There were some small scale battles around the water near river outpost and quite a bit of fun to be had; such small scale stuff happens infrequently of late on gilrain, so this was a good 1st impression. Especially as there was a noticable lack of zerg on our low ranked creeps for the bulk of the time, even if it did pop up. There was only one brief spawncamp by numerous freeps, which petered out pretty quick.

The fighting in TA (think thats tol to you) was likewise a giggle and the impression was of a server with mixed skill and broken up fights. On gilrain there is a top heavy population of old timers which means a lot of the people you play against regularly are predictably playing the right cards, so the mixed skill level was kinda fresh.

Also amusing was the relative aggression - there was a less huggy feel to the freeps and burgs going for the kill rather than breaking off for rating.

Ofc the lingo was different, as was some of the culture - a warg complained our WL didn't heal it and suggested if they wanted to dps they should have rolled a dps class. That was a bit amusing.

It was interesting 80% of the creeps were tribeless, its more like 20% on gilrain, so that was also noticable.

The other thing was ooc seemed to have people talking to themselves, so we supposed either there is a creepside teamspeak in operation which folks use ooc to communicate in, or there are just mad people about.

A few of us hung about longer and a couple returned later in the evening.

Naturally it was wierd being a 5 year player and suddenly having no comms/dps etc and starting fresh on a toon with so much to do when you usually have so much, but thats not about the server.

So all in all impressions were good.

Will comment more when we have spent longer there. Hello.

Creepside over here is very community oriented. So tribes dont have as much of a meaning here. That is why you find a lot of them tribeless as well as the complaints with the non warleader heals. Most of the WL's and defilers do heal out of group on E.
Communication on E creepside is Teamspeak Oriented as well so again why you see more talk in OOC and on TS as opposed to the diffrerent tribes.

As Yicky said, nearly all group/raid communication is over teamspeak. Feel free to join us, info below.

There have been a lot of incoming server transfers onto Elendilmir recently. This likely accounts for the number of lower-ranked toons and higher-ranked tribe-less toons you saw.

There are two peak times on Elendilmir: US and Australian. You're likely to find activity both very early in the day and very late at night, your time.

Aye gilrain has a strong core community, but yes it seems very friendly, an extremely friendly creep gave us some dof pots as they were at cap, we do this on gilrain, but mostly to friends as opposed to strange newcommers, so aye no arguments there. Aye healers healing out of group we are used to, lol just not people complaining if they not get them There were some giggles about the tribe name and no run ins or childish rants in ooc so can't fault it really.

Many thanks, may well do if we are solo or raiding with you, although we are on vent when grouped with each other most of the time.

Thanks for this. We are likely to come here if the action on gilrain is poor. None of us intend to transfer as such, its more fun to start up new creeps together (we are up to 9 in tribe now). Were there again to day and it was yet again pretty good fun.

    >.< Well at least the freeps seem to have backbones here.

Anyhows it seems first impressions were not flash i the pan. I would recommend this server to people.

We were perhaps a little suprised that a random rank 6 warg wanted to join the tribe (given he would be the highest rank in it and knew nothing about us). I kinda feel for the poor sausage tho, as to see if he had a sense of humour invited him to fellow to ask 3 questions before inviting.. he gave up after question 2 and logged >.< Could you have got all three correct :O

I know I'm the wrong server thread, but where I come from ,Silverlode.. there are alot of freeps that are keep huggers. Do you'll have the same problem over there?

Sometimes, myself would I like just run in and try to make them catch me, just for them to come out of their little holes lol. I always wanted and thought about switching servers, but since I'm going P2P soon, I only have enough TPs for purchasing the Warg class.

Creep community on Silverlode is decent, but as long as you have a bound with friends that you have grouped with over the years, seems like a tight niche to be in, which is why I'm still on Silverlode. lol
