If you mouse over "Armour" under you character tab, whether you're freep or creep, you'll read this:
Armour:
--Reduces the damage you take from attacks
--100% of your armour value is added to your common mitigation
--20% of your armour value is added to your non-common mitigation
As a freep, I used a minstrel as an example. Tale of Warding gives you +900 armour value, therefore, as the description says, it gives you roughly +180 (20%) for both Physical and Tatical Mitigation. (Common not included.)
So even if the minstrel traits the double-tale, now getting +2000 armour value, he will only get +400 tatical mitigations, which for PvP is a small number, considering you can get around +1200 of it just by having Anthem of Composure up, and +1500 just by acquiring Sarchol. No wonder no one uses that tale.
As a creep, I used a delving pot as an example. Troll-like Hide gives you +1200 armor, but, unlike what the description says, it gives you the exact +1200 for both of your Physical and Tatical Mitigations. The same works for all other creep armour sources.
So if you're a Defiler, Warg or Spider without Armour Boost, you might want to rethink that, same goes for BA's and WL's without New Breed. And you got to keep your Delving pots up at all times, the difference they do is absolutely great. I would say all armour sources for a creep are a must have. (Though I still prefer my Attack Duration aura)
I'm curious to why it works like this, contradicting their own descriptions, but I think this is most likely WAI, maybe something they changed 6 months ago when creep mits were messed up, does anyone know?
