    Looking for active Kinship

In any games I have played I have found that kinships (guilds/whatever you want to call them) have been integral to my enjoyment of the game. I have been browsing the forums but have a really hard time telling if kinships are active, what size they are, what kind of kinship events they sponsor, or times that a fair number of people will be on.

I am interested in a kinship for my new Hobbit minstral Gradra. As I am new (again) to this game I don't have any high level characters. I Typically play 7-10 Central (when I am home) during the week, and sometimes on Weekends (when my wife lets me). I may have a few friends starting to play with me so would like a kinship that would be interestead in picking up at least 1 if not 1-5 new members. I would prefer a kinship where I can create other races to join it as to not loose the interaction between people I get to know.

Would not mind if there was a guild website/ventrillo but not a requirement by any means. I don't know how ventrillo would work in terms of trying to RP in game but talking outside game, it would probably end up like many of my tabletop sessions....

    Hello Runmymouth.

Because this server was originally situated in Europe for the first four years of the game a majority of the players, and kinships, are European based, which in turn has a bearing on the time of activity. That's not to say that you will not find kinships that play your hours, just not as many. There should also be a couple of threads in this section with kinships playing 'American' hours.

Luckily the server has seen an influx of new American settlers after our server joined the 'Turbine Family' and that's a good thing. I do think, however, that a majority of the players wouldn't recognise your use of American time zones so you will likely make it easier on a possible recruiting kinship if you toss a GMT zone in there with it.

In closing as a hobbit and a roleplayer I would have suggested the Grand Order of the Mathom, but I'm not really sure they play your hours and I do know that they only take in hobbits. You can meet them and many of the other hobbit kinships at the Green Dragon every Friday at 19.00 GMT.

Best of luck in finding what you seek; and a belated welcome to Laurelin!

Central Standard Time is offset by +6 from GMT, I keep looking up the time zone names on other posts. Would love to make it at 19:00 GMT but typically I am still at work till about 23:00 GMT... I will deffinitly look into the American kinships though as it is a great suggestion. I have an old character on Landroval which is a possiblity if this server is dead during peak play hours for me, but I was hoping that the server might just be lively enough to play on a full RP server.
