Realistic damage of new Warg Piercing Claws attack
"Ignores 50% of mitigations and does 10% of the targets max health "
Factor in Audacity and what kind of numbers will this hit for ?
On a heavy ?
On a light armor?
What kind of cd timer ? Obviously not spammable but this should not be on a 5 or 10 min cd either.
Will Shadow/Flayer/No stance affect this skill ?

Hadn't you heard? 10% boost to all mits for all freeps.
Cmalberg - Elendilmir
-Stickygritz, Gritzwarr, and all those Gritz. Greblam
Rock is OP, nerf rock. Paper is balanced.
I mean everything I ever say, ever.

Piercing Claws should be affected by stance
Shadow = More damage
Flayer = More Mitigation debuff
5-10 second CD sounds reasonable

I agree with the first two, but for something that does 10% of the target's health (even affected by mits), 5-10 is too short. I'd say more around 20ish would be more in line.
Just thought of this... would this work on npcs? That would greatly decrease the time that it takes to kill cg's (in theory at least).

As far as I know, there is currently no "ignore X% of mitigation" mechanic, so it should be to the game.
If tyhey use the common sense (I know it's Turbine so it may not be true) then it would be multiplicative.
So a 10k freep would receive a raw 1k hit. If we add 30% from audacity (I supose that audacity is not included in the reduction) then the damage is reduced to 700. Then the skill would do 490 (4.9%) to a heavy, 525 (5.25%) to a medium and 560 (5.6%) to a light.
With a full raid pack you would be able to insta kill any player, and I think that alrerady any warg raid can insta kill any player (captain should not have time to use LS).
If so it will be underwhelming against players and OPd against NPCs if useable on them. 1mill GC would receive hits of more than 90k damage
.

Hunters and RKs can do 12K with one shot
Wargs will soon do the same (on a 120K morale NPC)

I think their intent is to provide a way for wargs to tackle the more tanky Freeps while not effecting the more squishy freeps. I am inferring, but that is the obvious outcome of the mechanics they designed.
The damage is a slope where the more squishy freeps may fall below normal warg damage while the more tanky freeps will exceed normal warg damage.
I think to be effective it would have to be at 1m or under.Last edited by Armitas; Jul 24 2012 at 09:22 AM.

Maybe the skill, like some defiler curses, only work on human players, not npcs.

So this skill looks like it will be just a time filler when claws is on CD against players and will be the #1 go to skill against NPCs..
*facepalm*
guess it was too much to expect that we'd get a truly useful skill... Oh well, guess they're preparing us for the massive PvE that will come out with RoR...
