It took me 4 years to get all those tokens. I happened to be taking a break from the game for the last several months, so I missed the changes. I really wish someone at Turbine had at least sent out an email to let people know their tokens were going to be made worthless. I could have bought the rest of my set, but instead I got a few kills worth of commendations.

They let people know long in advance. From the Dev Diary.
"Q. What happens to the existing Ettenmoors/Ettendeep barter tokens?
All of the existing barter tokens will be converted over to Commendations upon Update 6 launch. The conversion rates are still being decided, but they will be small to avoid exploitation."
Don't blame turbine because you weren't paying attention :P
Also what set are you referring to exactly? The Audacity sets are pretty much a must for the moors and were never purchasable with stones and crests/brooches.

I was taking a break from the game, so you'll have to excuse me for not reading every word of the dev diary in case they mention one sentence about basically taking away my ability to trade in a set of gear. Accommodations have been made for circumstances like mine in the past. It feels bad to log in and find out something I spent hundreds of hours working for is gone.
Yes I was referring to the OLD set which I couldn't use yet due to rank restrictions. Now that same set costs thousands of commendations, but the conversion factor gave me a few hundred. I don't understand why they couldn't have left the old gear to be purchased from the vendor using the old currency, like they did back in moria when tokens were changed. I think that vendor is still working, if anyone has the old moria raid tokens ...
