I logged in Tuesday to find all my Freep characters erased, but my creeps and level 1 characters on other servers intact. I had not been gone, in fact I had just been playing two days earlier.
I don't understand why Turbine doesn't simply reset my account to where it was two days before. The technology exists and, although a pain for them, to not do so means that I'm done playing after five years. I would have kept playing Lotro forever, but now I doubt I will play again.
I don't have any clue how my account was hacked, but don't let this happen to you.
Is it too soon for "There is no Zuul (L75), only Zuul (L1)!!!" jokes?
Have you tried contacting support and they turned you down? I feel like I've seen people get their accounts rolled back and their stuff returned before. There's a character undelete service, so I can't imagine that's a hurdle.
Work like no one is watching, dance like you don't need the money...
I hope that turns out to be true. I have not heard from support after two days.
"Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"
if you follow the procedure outlined by turbine they will help you, though it is not instantaneous. Turbine need to due their due diligence and track who and how it happened as much as they can on their end, and this takes time.
