So I just started playing LOTRO recently, not expecting much from a F2P MMO but I was surprised to find out what a beautifully crafted, rich and immersive MMO it is.
As soon as I created my character I was sucked into the story and the landscape. The combat is nothing special but luckily that's not what I'm playing this game for.
I have always been a fan of J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy and this really has the LOTR atmosphere that many LOTR games seem to be missing.

Welcome to Middle-earth!
And just letting you know, for an even more immersive atmosphere with Events inspired by the books and ''real'' characters, there is a place for that, its the Official RP Server, Laurelin (dont have to roleplay, its not a 'must')
It does enhance the experience in the game and make it richer
