As far as I can guess the LI's are nothing but a cosmetic. Kind of amusing they are only usable by the "courageous" only rofl. Well that pvp rewards for you.

Something tells me you won't get free relic removal scrolls, iexp or star-lit crystals in addition. And that in order to level it you'll probably have to grind school/library for the 10 thousandth time, assuming there's no end game content on release like Mirkwood/isengard.
Or barrow downs, hear that's all the rage these days.Ranked 13th world-wide, Champion.

If the damage boost for owning outposts is a mastery boost, then it'll actually favor creeps more than freeps. If it's a flat percentage boost, then it'll definitely favor creeps more than freeps.
There's some nice DR on physical/tactical mastery ratings for freeps past 25-30k. The outgoing damage still goes up, but not as much as it does <20k for the same amount of additional mastery. Since creeps are so low in mastery already, they won't hit that DR.
If it's a percentage boost, assuming it works the same way as percentage damage boosts (like anthem of war) work now, it adds to the percentage boost you already have. So a burg with +100% outgoing damage from physical mastery gets an anthem of war, that goes to +110%, so it's only a 5% boost in actual damage (200% to 210%). On the other hand, a creep is in the lower range, let's say 50% (making it up, can't log in atm to check my creep, but I know it's not around 100% :P). A 10% boost for that creep would take them from 150% to 160%, which is a ~7% boost in actual damage.
Either way, creeps win, so I wouldn't sweat it :P This post is directed at whomever said otherwise.

So unless I'm using rodarin math creeps loose either way.
If its 10% of the ratings my spider would gain a total of 0 points in rating to its phy/mast rating of 0. while my burg would gain about 3100 points from the first op and each outpost after that gaining even more so even with the dr on mastery after 20k(my rk can for close to the same at 20k as it does at 29k) the freeps gaining rating at all is a win for them.
If on the other hand its 10% of the % my spider has around 50% so 10% of that is 5% gain while my burg has 115% so the gain would be 11.5%/outpost and i believe 11.5 > 5 so how does that help creeps more unless freeps are exploiting to have the 40kish(at 75 im sure it will be higher at 85) mastery it takes to hit the cap at 140% so they gain nothing?Last edited by thisisanewname; Jul 22 2012 at 10:43 AM.

Heh, it's not 10% of what you have, it's literally going to be either + x amount of mastery or a straight up +10% added to the outgoing damage tooltip of your mastery. As in, if it says 5%, it'd say 15%. If it says 150%, it'd say 160%. Like I said, either way creeps win :P
Also, just a tip for the future, please don't bother quoting a post if you're not going to bother reading it :P I don't think I can explain it much clearer there, and you kind of just completely ignored it and went back to your original statement.

So making creeps more powerful (which isn't necessarily bad), while also having ungated (f2p) population...does anyone else not see the problem with this. This closer and closer you get to balancing creeps 1:1 the more and more population decides the outcome of your fight. Freeps automatically have their potential population cut and now they are lowering the commendation cost for new skills (which rightfully scared F2P creeps away I am sure) means that you are going to have even more creeps who are effectively equal to the freeps running around.
Audacity is a shame, they are adding on instead of resetting which kills a lot of vets who may want to return. They should just rest it to zero and start again ever season more people could start on equal ground. The grind is a grind either way don't try to disguise it.
Lol at 3min hips/sprint there aren't enough wargs now, get ready for more pound puppies.
meh.

The problem with balancing freep vs creep based on the assumed amount of ftp people is you can't ensure creeps will always have the numbers advantage. it seems like freeps always have 2-3 raids out(the opposite of mirkwood) right now cuz turbine made creeps weaker to counter the expected numbers advantage. what they didn't count on was so many people who would be disgusted by how pathetic low rank creeps without spending allot of money on skills and traits in the HOPE of being even competitive so the amount of true ftp creeps really isn't high enough to counter the competent freeps(thankfully not all freeps are competent or all the creeps probably would have rage quit by now.)
what they really need to do is change the moors completely and make freep moors toons sorta session play like creeps are. let them start at level cap but have only the basic skills and gain new skills/better weapons/armor as they rank up. let freeps start off really weak like greenie creeps and allow them to use the store to buy skills if they don't have the rank already.also make the classes purchasable in the store so both sides are on equal footing and it would be much easier to balance the sides since all freeps would be equal in gear/armor. think of how much easier it would be to balance things without trying to figure out what level of geared freeps to u try to balance with the avg creep(if u balance it for raid gear with 1st ages then any1 with less gear will seem really weak but if u balance for something like people with quest gear and 3rd ages any1 with better gear will seem to be god mode)
It doesn't reset they just increased the amount of audacity to r12. With r12 i think being = to r7 now . they have dramatically reduced the cost of ranks 2-7 so it will make it easier to catch up if your an altaholic like me and need audacity for 16 toons(combined freep /creep) and only have it on 2 lol

I have plenty of iexp saved and relics saved, relic removal scrolls from the store, as well as plenty of seals, medallions, and marks (althought i am unsure how useful they will be in the coming expansion). I will effectively have a pretty good LI (maybe not maxed out) upon hitting 85. Not a bad deal to me.Rank 12 Minstrel, Rank 9 Rune-keeper

Who said I was going for originality? I can't tell if he speaks good English or not. Seems like it would be a waste of effort, but thanks for the review!
I wouldn't bank on the iExp being useable at level cap, considering the store that's money lost to Turbine.I have plenty of iexp saved and relics saved, relic removal scrolls from the store, as well as plenty of seals, medallions, and marks (althought i am unsure how useful they will be in the coming expansion). I would love to see something new come to LOTRO pvp it would bring alot of old players back ... like myself
I agree giving creeps something to grind out really killed it for me.This is one of the main reason I haven't returned.Every time I get an itch to play my creeps again I remember I have a bunch of grinding to do to even be effective.

I know this is not possible for many who pvp but you don't actually have to have audacity to compete and since I have a 'no-grind' policy when it comes to mmo's I'm in no hurry to get to A2 (although I do like the avatar look as you gain it). But then I mostly solo or join in on larger fights so if the freep crits a few times I'm dead no matter how much Audacity I have.

I have to agree. I've not worried about Audacity and I still have fun in the Moors. I stand at 4 right now. The first pieces are only 4000 comms a piece I believe which isn't bad. I don't generally grind either and not getting Audacity right off the bat really hasn't affected my play much. That being said I'm a guard so we're pretty tough to begin with.

From what I understand taking OP's increases mastery by a flat number of mastery. The Dev Diary says 10%, I'm not sure what of 10% it is but its a number near whatever cap rating is. For example if I am 2k mastery away from cap on a freep and have 2 OP's I will be wasting some mastery. On creep I will get the full value of each rating increase. So if your creep has 0 mastery and you have ROP and SOP and the OP buff is say 2k mastery you would have 4000 mastery in your stat page. Creeps could potentially benefit from all 5. Freeps that are decently geared wouldnt get a full benefit from 5. Although I have no idea until RoR or there is a new diary if the damage from mastery still caps at 126% or 12x depending on your class.

If it works out as a set number of rating that is 1 thing and that would benefit creeps but if its a % then it doesn't help creeps out at all unless they are spec'd for dps since 10% of 0 is still 0 .under that set up it wouldn't help the "good" freeps who are at cap or near it to begin with and also wouldn't help any creep who doesn't trait for dps but it might actually make traiting dps on classes like a weaver viable.
